NVInteriors Project

Post » Sat Oct 09, 2010 5:29 am

First I must say, Please No spoilers!

I want to experience the game as you do but, as I've ben wondering around I'm already plotting and planning my new mod. With every new thing I see, I can only think to myself, Wow, how cool would it be ti do this or that!

I'm not going to post a place holder on the nexus, like so many others have! The beth forums are my base, this is where I come fore support and, insight! I wanted you all to know that I'll be starting a new project within days.

for now, please only tell me to look here or there. Once I get my head around all of the new additions I'll get into it.

What I'm really saying is that DCInteriors is now NVInteriors. :fallout: :banghead: :foodndrink: :celebration:

Thanks for all of your support,

cev

EDIT:

Some one has tried to snipe me, a want to be :ninja: NINJA! so, I posted my intent on the nexus.

I loved DC Interiors, and already am eager for the day I might explore more of the Mojave Wasteland. :celebration:

Lets talk without spoilers, :toughninja:

I already know the first few buildings I'm going to fill in!

what else do you think needs fleshing out, tell me the towns locations, without breaking the game.

There is a large urbanized area in and around the New Vegas Strip that would be ideal for opening up.

There also seems to be a Industrial Park/Factory/Base also along the same route that will take to towards the Strip that I'm shocked is completely boarded up. It seems like prime real estate, unless Obsidian/Bethesda plans to use it in future DLC.

I think I can safely say without spoiling this for anyone;

the Hoover dam probably doesn't have too much in the way of interior, although that's speculation on my side.

That speculation is wrong, wrong, wrong. The Dam's interior is gigantic - it feels too big because there are so few things you can actually interact with in it.

good to know but, I always shy away from anything that is a vanilla asset so, this doesn't concern me. Messing with vanilla is just asking for crashes or, bugs. :brokencomputer:

Good luck with this! There are so many inaccessible buildings, I just don't get it. Why on earth do people live in the street when the majority of buildings are intact with a couple of boards nailed over the doors?

The road leading to the strip was mentioned, but really all of the urban areas around Vegas could use some work. I'm not entirely sure that's a job for NVInteriors though? IMO they could be made more populated, but afaik that's not quite what DCInteriors was about.

Still, there's empty buildings everywhere. Go nuts. :)

It took about 15 minutes before I modded the binoculars, and it's all gone downhill from there. :D

Thanks for bringing your awesome mod to New Vegas, cev. A lot of Freeside is empty and rife for interiors. Especially those shops with signs out the front but barred up doors.

As said before, Freeside has a lot of buildings that have no interior as of yet. I would suggest the forboding building in the NW corner of Freeside, near the door for the interior "Ruined Store". The ruined store is an NCR establishment-thing and its about 50 feet from the rather large building that has like 2 pieces of wood over the door (I'd have broken in myself in RL). And then the other "Stores" in Freeside. Plenty have signs and make you think they will be open for business. But thats sadly not the case.

Then in Jacobstown, there is like 3-4 bungalow type cottages in the main area. Only one is open to pop inside of, the rest have barred up doors. So if anything, at least the first one can make a nice template for the others, since i doubt they would have much variance.

Will come back with more once I've played sufficiently through the game.

Cev,

All I can say is that New Vegas is chucked-full of boarded-up buildings. Heck there Massive amounts of areas where good buildings will be necessary...

I also found a Perfect place for my airport in the south - they put a small airport down there with _no_ interiors of any kind. I plan to plant-flag down there and get to work as soon as my NVEdit manual updates are done.

I should send them a thank-you letter actually, as it seems like adding new buildings and interiors to Vegas will be easy and fun to do. :)

Hello all,

Sorry I've ben away, after a lengthy vacation in New Vagus, I'm happy to announce that I've begun preparations for " The NVInteriors Project". This time I'm going to use a Core master file to contain all new assets, In a hope to cut down on some of the redundancies seen in "DCInteriors". I've spent the last few days building a ton of all new collectables. Sorting through the meshes to see what I can bring over from "DC" or, what I have to build from scratch. :banghead: Once I get a solid base to work from I'll pick a district to start working on.

When It's initially finished I may release my core and, it's assets as a modders resource I've ben contemplating doing this for some time. This way many other modders could use my efforts as a master and, we wouldn't have to face conflicts. If any of you modders would like to see this please let me know. I would take requests for assets and, will be adding to the core file as I need new assets.

As always my mod, will fill in areas completely, unless I'm avoiding another mod. Although, I think "NVInteriors will have a much different feel than "DCInteriors" has.

Wooo. I'm excited! The Mojave is a fun place to visit, but it lacks the same kind of "What's behind this corner?" that the Capital Wasteland had.

I'm curious where in general you plan to start your brilliant efforts?

Not sure yet but, one place I was thinking of was the town "Don't remember it's name" that the Legion set off the dirty bomb. Turning it into "Ghoul City"!

I've ben concentrating on setting up my assets, fun little toys to bring home as "trophies" from your adventures. :celebration:

Oooh, yeah. Searchlight would be an interesting place to explore.

I do love how they set off a dirty bomb, yet everyone has time to board up the doors...
