Oath to Nocturnal

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 7:03 pm

If your Character is a Nord and becomes a Nightingale, does he go to Sovngarde or spend Eternity guarding the Twilight Sepulcher?
This was an issue for Kodlak when he was affected by Lycanthropy, so is the same for Nords who are Nightingales? But since there's probably no cure for an Oath to a daedric prince...

Eternity guarding the Twilight Sepulcher, unless you're a werewolf, and then it's an eternity guarding the Sepulcher but sneaking out to hunt in Hircine's realm for all eternity.

Or something.

Who cares about this Sepulcher thingy. Someone may come all of what, once a century? Quit being lazy Nocturnal and get some actual traps in place.

Odds are the Dragonborn is exempt, since he is Dragonborn. The same way how you could not absorb Alduin, the Daedra probably can't claim you.

It seems that followers of any daedra go to their master's realm when they die. I wonder what happens if you give an oath to all of the daedric princes.

By the end of it all your eternal soul belongs to every supernatural being on the planet and probably some waitress from a filthy inn.

Acquire gold, live like a French Monarch and let them sort it out.

You pull a Constantine, and all the Daedric princes keep you alive so they don't have to go to war over your soul.

Or if you read what she says you would learn that you have fulfilled your agreement.

When you enter your agreement (do oath) she informs you that you will spend this and the next life being her sentinel until your oath is fulfilled.

When you return the skeleton key, she then tells you that you have fulfilled your oath. Then gives you the full abilities of the nightingales. But you have fulfilled your agreement.

Wait, really? Crud. I was really counting on her duking it out with Hircine and Sithis and sneaking out to Sovngarde while their backs were turned…

Odds are, Nocturnal can claim dragonborn. She has complete power over luck after all.

Nice catch. So Hircine won't have to worry about the competition, then.

Haha, I think I owe my soul to everyone, I'm a nightingale werewolf who is also Listener for the Dark Brotherhood, Lucien often reminds me about how I will be serving the dread father when I die.....

the Dovahkiin is exempt as his/her soul is already claimed by Akatosh, who kinda gave you your soul and thus the ability to Defeat Alduin. but in General i'd say nords who become Nightingales are stuck "serving" Nocturnal, not that i want my Nord Barbarian guy to do that. i shudder to think what Nocturnal hides underneath that outfit of hers.

...or spend Eternity guarding the Twilight Sepulcher?

Not eternity, just until Nocturnal deems the contract fulfilled. After that they go to her plane of Oblivion.

But as said, Dragonborn is a special case. Akatosh may get to decide regardless of deals with the demons :hehe:

My mage would propably love it in http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Planes_of_Oblivion#Hermaeus_Mora.27s_Apocrypha, an eternity of searching knowedge in an infinite library :lmao:

Also if you're a Daedric Lord's champion does that also mean your soul belongs to them? Ex. Azura, after cleasing Azura's Star.

No, Azura never states that she wants your soul. nor do others such as clavicus vile, meridia, Peryite.

If ur a werewold u can free urself from hercine, by doign what u did with kodlak.
If ur TG head master...well after u dropped off a package to Noctirnal, ur square in her book so at the end u dont have to worry staying with her.

In the end you will see your soul as a bingo prize to a few gods & daedra. That is the best way to really put it.

They did an expansion in oblivon for that :P

Seriously though, I don't think that they would let, I mean Molag ball hates boethia so he made the priest dude switch before he died.

Hmm... so the soul goes to the last prince who got the oath? Seems plausible.
