OBGE Liquid Water problem

Post » Fri Apr 18, 2014 1:00 pm

I updated my OBGE and OBGE Liquid Water to the files off the Google site, used the .exe installers. OBGE works fine, and now I can force anisotropic filtering through OBGE instead of my nvidia driver. But Liquid Water isn't working right. Everything underwater works as intended, seemingly, but the surface is unchanged from vanilla. It's still ugly, blue, and oozy just like vanilla. Nexus version of OBGE and LW worked fine, I even tried the older LW with the newer OBGE and no dice. I'd hate to roll back to the nexus OBGE. How do I get the updated Liquid Water to work properly with OBGE?

Make sure you've also installed OBGE's Physically Correct Sky and enabled HDR, either in the game or in the oblivion.ini. If both of those are okay, try flushing the OBGE cache, using the flushcache.bat file in Oblivion's shaders folder.

Ewww, it REQUIRES pcs now? Isn't PCS incompatible with LOD generators?

Nope, didn't work. Installed PCS, ran flushcache, the water surface still looks weird and underwater seems a lot darker than it should be. Gonna uninstall them and delete my .inis and see if a fresh reinstall helps...

Hmm. I've been using the nexus version without PCS and it worked flawlessly. Well, it seemed to at least lol. But even with PCS installed and a flushcache it's not working. The google version, that is.

I use Liquid Water without Physically Correct Sky. I have to use the Normal version as the water surface for the Performance version messes up. Can't really help with your specific problem though as I haven't encountered it. Flushing the OBGE cache may help though...

[Edit: Or maybe clearing the cache won't help. Damn ninjas  ]

Okay, it's more or less working now. Newer version is a lot darker than the nexus version though so I've got some water.ini tweaking to do. I think the problem was that I was enabling anisotropy in obge.ini. I know making changes after installing LW makes LW temperamental, but I didn't consider making changes of any kind at all for any reason might be the problem, but it seems to be. I'll just force anisotropic filtering through my driver again. SO! Can anyone recommend a good sky texture while we're here? A new sky has drawn my attention to the need to replace the textures lol

The sky textures in All Natural are gorgeous.
