Objective Markers & Log Entries Not Showing

Post » Thu Aug 08, 2013 5:11 am

Hello,

As the title suggest, the objective markers and log entries don't work when I start my quest. The quest shows it's started and appears in my log with no log entry despite there should be one, and no objective marker appears. I'm really not sure what I've done wrong, as I use SQV in the console and it verifies that the stage is 10 and everything is started. I linked my objective marker to my dungeon exterior map marker like it said to do in this ---->http://www.creationkit.com/Bethesda_Tutorial_Quest_Loose_Ends and went into my quest stage tab at stage 10 and added the script DungeonMarker.AddToMap() and everything but it isn't working. Does anyone know why these things aren't working? If you need me to clear thing up or explain better just let me know.

Thanks,

Yeah if the AddToMap() isn't working it sounds like you didn't define your properties. You have to declare the properties, but also define them so the game knows what you're talking about.

http://www.creationkit.com/Bethesda_Tutorial_Basic_Quest_Scripting Look under the 'Properties' section, it describes the process for declaring and defining properties.
If you set your quest to the stage with the entry, it should just show up. People have reported this not working before, but I've never had it happen. Maybe one of them can drop in. I have never ever once had this issue, and I have about 25 quests done that update the log just fine, so I think it's user error, the question is where.

Hmm. It just didn't want to work on that one character. Thanks for your help and responding to my PM. :-)

I'm having that problem too - so has anyone ever found a solution since 21-December 2012? Else I'm just gonna delete the whole quest and start over...
