Oblivion 5th Anniversary Edition

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 2:25 am

I already own two copies of PC GOTY edition, the second serves both as back-up and so I don't need to transfer disk-1 between my two computers with Oblivion installs. A luxury, yes. But at $20 apiece what the heck?

This new combo does nothing special for me. I'm not one that cares much for non in-game extras, and while $10 off Skyrim is nice that's no better a monetary deal that just getting standard GOTY Oblivion and then paying "normal" price for Skyrim at release. Nothing wrong with this collection for those who enjoy those extras. Just not my cup-of-tea.

Looks nice & if it has all the DLC that's a good thing.

Unless Steam is a requirement I most likely will buy it

I'm gonna go ahead a double-dip. The back cover image for the PS3 version on Amazon says it'll have trophies.

The back of the box doesn't say anything about requiring steam, so that's good for those concerned. It would be sweeter if the map was a new full color map and maybe included the other dlc content as well. The fact that trophy support is coming to ps3 is awesome! Being an oblivion fanatic I will definitely pick up one for my 360 and possibly pc as well.

Well I have the original Oblivion game, the Collector's edition, the GOTY edition, the Shivering Isles, and KotN all sitting next to each other as a display on my desk, along with some other Elder Scrolls items, looks like another box will be added to the display

Honestly this is for me a must have if it includes all the DLC but I'm kinda disappointed that there is no mention of it including Shivering Isles in it as well. Honestly i couldn't give two [censored] about a coin or making of DVD its about content in post realize additions for me.

I'll pass, If it had all the DLC's and everything from the GOTY edition then I would possibly get it but it doesn't have that stuff so I'll say no.

This/

It was a perfect way to give PS3 users DLC..but nooo. I won't buy that crap!

The jaded old cynic in me says this smacks of shameless profiteering on the back of the Skyrim announcement. Everyone on this forum will already have a copy, there was a GOTY edition, and let's face it, vanilla Oblivion is unplayable when compared to FCOM.

Can anyone from Bethesda comment on this? Is an offical press release coming? Is the Fighters stronghold included?

So, does the PS3 version have Trophies now?

According to a user posting a image of what looks like a box cover on gametrailers, the PS3 version will have trophies. http://forums.gametrailers.com/thread/oblivion-to-finally-get-trophi/1214814?page=1
Someone posted there was an update to Oblivioon on the Xbox 360 not so long ago, maybe it is in relation to achivements or something else with this new release. No-one seems to know what it included though. http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1189352-new-oblivion-update/
Hopefully a PC version of it is also released and it can add the game to a Steam account.
EDIT: On second thoughts, this svcks for collectors. To get to that coupon you'd have to OPEN the package! That's going to be a tough decision... :P

Just buy two copies. :P

Looks like if you want to use the coupon you have too buy a strategy guide too... So pretty useless.

Well if I have to buy the strategy guide to "save" $10 when buying Skyrim, then forget it. I wouldn't be surprised if that guide cost $10+.

Now if it came with all DLCs (inlcuding Fighter's Stronghold), then I might consider.
Plus with current metal prices, I wonder how much it would cost Bethesda to include a metal septim (coin) along with the metal box/ cover?

I wonder why Bethesda hasn't officially confirmed this and spelled-out the details on BethBlog or wherever.

Kinda silly to sit on something like this when you can already pre-order it from most major retailers.

People. It clearly states on the FIRST line of contents that it comes with Oblivion, GAME OF THE YEAR EDITION.
GOTY = OB+SI+NOTN.

Not to mention the back cover image on Amazon...although grain of salt and so-forth. (also claims Trophy support for the PS3 version)

PS3 - http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/91h-5Ap6YzL._AA1500_.jpg
360 - http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/A1MrWM1PMqL._AA1500_.jpg

Part of the reason I'd like Bethesda to officially post the details so that we can stop doing speculative detective work and going around in circles over features/content which may or may not be present.

I wonder it the Vampire Quest bug is fixed. I doubt it, so no reason for me to get it.

This is usually for people who never bought Oblvion yet, not for peopel who have so for those of us saying we will not buy it, it doesn't matter, we are not Bethesda target audience. They want people to get hooked so they will want Skyrim. It is not for us who will be getting Skyrim anyways.

Also for those of us who like this collectors item stuff. Not to mention that if this truly is a limited release, then these could probably resell on ebay for a good price.
