now, I know this must have been discussed at some point(s) but I have not been able to find
what I'm looking for in the forum. Well, here goes:

I've got a core i5-750 @ 2,66 GHz. I've read about the tweaks about dual core as well as quad
core tweaks (Oblivion Performance Project) and I've been wondering, how do these tweaks
fare concerning stability?

Also, the tweaks I've found are, like, 1 or 2 years old; are there any updates on the subject?

Simple answer: Don't touch the ini file as long as it's not absolutely necessary. The "tweaks" will make your game more unstable and in the end you will get less fps than before.

Use Oblivion Stutter Remover and Streamline to get more fps.

Oh, and don't forget to optimize your meshes with pyffi.

I thought it was only one or the other, can you use them both together?

You can use them both if you deactivate Streamsmooth or if you change the fps range to the range of OSR.

They do complete different things:
-Oblivion Stutter Remover optimizes the code(improved heap management, hash table hooks, better CriticalSection handling and also removes one CriticalSection completely), well low level stuff(recent options add profiling too).
-Streamline changes the graphic options to accomodate a fps range you have selected and offer to purge cells from memory depending on your configuration.

Ah yes there may be some slight conflict on the FPS handling I think, look in the OSR thread to find more info.

Somewhere in these forums, someone said that streamline takes over the same work as stutter remover.

Question, does the game CTD more with either of these?

No, OSR will even reduce stutter related CTDs.

It depends what options you have enabled for OSR. I found that the heap replacement does in fact cause CTD's. It's disabled by default because of this.
