Oblivion Armor`s Icon Conversion

While converting armors from Oblivion Mods i have just got into one problem the icon texture it contains doesnt get up well with Morrowind`s CS it gives up an error:

Invalid Input received
Icon Filename exceeds the 32 byte size limit.

Anone knows how to fix this

I have GIMP installed but creating a new icon wud be totally out of my hand i have no experience with it.

The icon is probably 64x64 instead of 32x32. Also, it probably doesn't have an alpha mapped background. I highly recomend you simply make a new one. Just open the armor up in NifSkope and apply the texture. Then take a screenshot and open it in GIMP. Crop the image to be just the item, only in a square, then delete the black background so that it is alpha. Then redcuce image size to 32x32. Save it as .dds with interpolated alpha.

By 'icon filename' I presume the length of the name of the icon/the combined length of the icon name + subfolders it is in (the filepath), is too long, ie. longer than 32 characters. Resizing icons to 32x32 means you get the full view of them in game but not doing so doesn't prevent them from working.

Edit: To clarify, shorten the name of your icon/reduce the number of subfolders that it is in.

As mentioned, it's either the filename (including path) exceeding 32 characters, or the icon isn't 32x32 pixels. Best bet is to recreate from scratch, the OB style icons won't look too great with MW style icons. I'm sure you would need too anyway, since MW has more body parts.
