Oblivion Community Release?

Hello peoples of The Elder Scrolls forums, I am a University student undertaking my final year of study in Computer Games Animation and am working on a short animatic hopefully featuring Oblivion's character models with my own custom rigs and animations applied to them. However my tutor has warned me that using models from a non open-source game would jeopardize the integrity and honesty of my animation show reel/portfolio.

So seeing as Oblivion has such a huge modding community and tools developed for the extracting of the meshes, I was wondering if the models are a community resource or not? And if not, what would be the likelihood of Bethesda giving me permission to use their models in my animation project?

tl;dr : Are Oblivion's character models a community resource, would Bethesda allow me to use them in a project if I emailed them.

No, they are not a community resource and they will most likely turn you down if you e-mail them and ask for permission.
