Oblivion crashes few seconds after starting new game...

Once a few mods start initializing and give me their statuses at the top left of the screen, the game crashes to the desktop. Here's my load order. Can anyone stop any problems with it?

This the wrong forum. There is a Mods forum for this.

Your load order is wrong. All of those Progress plugins are recognized by BOSS and should not be where they are. Secondly, you should not have MOBS installed. You should have OMOBS installed.

Exnem Runeskulls is included in MMM 3.7b3. It is the Diverse Runeskulls add-on (which you already have installed.) Get rid of Exnem's mod. Seriously, read these mod's docs. MMM's ReadMe covers that. The opening post of the thread covers it too.

OOO and FCOM use OMOBS.

Is your MMM BSA renamed "FCOM_Convergence Mart's Monster Mod.bsa"? If not, rename it. That should fix your crash.

The MMM Resized Races plugin needs to move too. You really need to take better care of your load order, especially with FCOM. Do not forget to rebuild the Bashed Patch after sorting it, or you will have a new source of crashes.

Lastly, if you have the MOBS version of the UOP installed, get rid of it, and install the UOP Supplemental (on top of 3.2.0) instead. OMOBS takes care of the stats rebalancing for the Wanilla records.

Yea, I'm sorry about the wrong forum. Thank you for the advice, I'll try to fix it. I've run BOSS almost every time I've made a change and I think I introduced Progress at the last moment.

Where do I find OMOBS? Do I need OMOBS for anything anyways? I only got MOBS because one of the readmes in one of the mods I downloaded said it was recommended (or possibly required?).

And I thought MMM's Diverse Runeskulls was to add variation to Exnem's..."Use this option if you want to find more Runeskulls". I wasn't aware there were Runeskulls in Oblivion without Exnem's mod. I'm sure you're correct but the why didn't they simply write "Adds Exnem's Runeskulls mod"?

I don't have the mobs version of UOP installed because I never found it. I think I have the supplementary already installed (I see the readme in my data folder).

And I don't have an MMM BSA, nor do I have any BSA that says FCOM on it. Should I have these? To get to where I am now, I simply installed Oblivion+SI, followed the FCOM First User's Guide, installed the recommended mods with it, and installed a handful of other mods.


EDIT: Is anyone knowledgeable willing to help me out over something like MSN/AIM? I'd appreciate it a lot! Thank you

The FCOM Homepage is outdated. I'd recommend starting over from scratch, following the instructions in http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1105942-relz-fcom-convergence-and-ufcom/.

Ouch, I spent like 5 hours getting up to the point where I am now. Guess I'll start redownloading everything while I nap. If I simply follow the instructions underneath the Quick Start guide - I should be fine, right?

If you store your mods in a separate folder instead of putting them directly into Data, then you won't have to re-download anything in the future. Extract them in your storage folder first, then just copy them over when you need them.

It's REALLY helpful if you make a folder called "DOWNLOADS" If you don't already have one, then inside of that make a folder called "Oblivion Mods". This is really helpful since you don't have to redownload every time you mess up an install.

Also, instead of deleting that folder every week or two, compress it with 7zip and make a new "Oblivion Mods" folder. This is really useful for when a mod gets pulled off the web by the creator for some reason, since you still have an old copy saved.

Thanks for the tip but that's what I did. After I downloaded all the files and installed them all I figured I'd be good to go so I deleted them to free up some space. I've installed FCOM at least three times previously (two of those times it the load order had to be done manually, no BOSS to make things easy). Maybe it's because I was a little impatient this time around but it seems more difficult than ever.

Except for the confusing state of the FCOM Homepage being outdated it should really be easier then before. Note that MMM comes in bsa format - and so does UFCOM_Convergence, Oblivion WarCry EV and FCOM Bob's Armory Oblivion as well. This together with BOSS managing the load order should make the install easier rather than more difficult.

0A UOP Vampire Aging & Face Fix.esp [Version 1.0.0] - you can skip this and use the Bashed Patch instead (Tweak Settings).

24 OMOBS.esp [Version 1.0] - Should have NoMerge, Import Stats as tags, i.e. import and keep unchecked so you'll get a dot before it. BOSS should give correct tags.
25 OMOBS_SI.esp [Version 1.0] - As above.
