Oblivion crashes at startup load! Again!

Ok, so I tested each mod one at a time and it worked fine.

It's when I use a bashed patch it screws up. Any ideas?

The sections you have to check for FCOM are listed in the FCOM release thread, and you may need to check out the MMM thread, for the recommended Tweak Settings- I always recommend using the AI: Max Active Actors [MMM Default 40] instead of the setting that Wrye Bash uses, and I actually have started using [100] myself.
Be careful what you do check when you build your Bashed Patch, In Tweak Actors do not place a check in the MAO patch if you do not have Mayus Animation Overhaul in your Load Order. I do not have my laptop handy to give you ideas of what to check in each section, and I need to see what mods you have active to give advice about what you need to check. I will edit this after I fire up my laptop.

Post both Load order/ and Bashed Patch 0.txt. Then someone might be able to help.

Bashed Patch, 0.html is the file bash shows after building your patch. It is saved in your ....Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data\Docs folder. there are 2 files one HTML the other a .txt called......Bashed Patch, 0.txt that is everything you do in your patch.Remember please to use [spoiler} [/spoiler] tags.(Change the odd ball one.)

Edit...lol now that i think about it bashed patch.txt includes the active mods in it....

Her are some of the Tweak settings I like to use,
Tweak Actors - I place a check in Quiet Feet to help minimise Audio CTD problems. Placing a check in the Mayu's Animation Overhaul Skeleton Tweaker is a known CTD cause for someone who does not use MAO.
Tweaks Assorted - I always put a check in the Nvidia Fog Fix, and I could place a check in the Magic:Script Effect Silencer. I like to make all Rings and Amulets my characters have equipped show up, and I also use the Right Hand Rings Tweak. Making All Armor and Clothing playable sound like great choices, but you are begging for a CTD at some point in your game if you select these.
Tweak Clothes - I always check Gloves Show Rings and Robes Show Amulets. Checking Robes Show Pants will cause clipping and exposure of body parts depending on your Load Order.
Tweak Names - Placing a check in the Lore Friendly Names:Dwarven -> Dwemer is recommended in the FCOM thread, and I am almost a lore purist myself.
Tweak Settings - I always check AI:Max Active Actors, and I recommend using the [MMM Default: 40] as a minimum setting. I set my Cell Respawn Time to three days. I set my Combat: Max Actors to a higher number than my AI:Max Active Actors. I like to use a higher Horse Turning Speed than the Vanilla setting. I also always use the UOP Vampire and Aging Face Fix to free an esp slot.
Cobl Catalogs - If you use Cobl you should have this checked
Cobl Exhaustion - I do not use a mod that needs this section checked
Contents Checker - I always check this section
Levelled Lists - I let Wrye Bash handle this section automatically
Morph Factions - If you do not use Wrye Morph then leave this unchecked
Power Exhaustion - Leave this section unchecked, unless you have a mod that requires it.
Race Records- I check this Section and all of the Mods in it
SEWorld Tests - I used to leave this unchecked myself until I noticed that People who are more Experienced with Wrye Bash always check this Section.
I use a lot more Tweaks in Tweaks Assorted than I did list, I make all of my ingredients, staffs, potions, and arrows wiegh as little as possible to cut down encumbrance on my characters, but I try and avoid any tweak that can cause a glitch or a CTD. I have an esp that makes all vanilla Rings equippable, so the only rings that appear on my character are added by mods. I have tried this kind of a tweak for amulets, but I had a necklace showing up over my characters face in the menus, and I had no amulets equipped!
I also like to place checks in the Rational Names in the Import Names Section, I found out Prior Maribels Horse became Buster, and I like the change, but many of the changes are for specific mods and should be left unchecked.

Okay my turn needs another level of help I guess

Do you have all your bsa named correctly and installed correctly

Francesco's 400mb bsa installed and either loading via oblivion.ini - FraNewItems.bsa or you have it renamed to Fcom_Convergence_FraNewItems.bsa

MMM.bsa renamed to FCOM_Convergence_Mart's Monster Mod.bsa

Make sure you have lastest Better Cities has your version are not matching 4.70, unless I am mistaken..and that the Better Cities BSA Loading has well..

did you try deleting your oblivion.ini and let the game rebuild you a new one and then reinstall any UI mods you may have been using ?

Make sure you read your boss log and make sure you selected the mods correctly has well in bashed patched where listed.

I'm gonna try to see if I get any joy on switching from a Steam copy to a disc copy.

Yes, all the BSA's are renamed, BBC is the latest version, i rebuilt the INI numerous times. BOSS is giving no warnings.

Running large OBSE dependant Games on Steam is a real problem because of the way Steam Works. We had no idea you were using Steam.
Steam does not allow you to take advantage of the 4Gb patch, and does cause OBSE to not work with some mods.
You can reuse your Oblivion\Data Folder from the Steam install with a disc install. Make a copy of your obmm, mopy, lex and src folders inside the Staem Oblivion folder for when you do transfer your game from Steam, You should not need to reinstall all of your mods again to make the switch.

m-m-mega bump

Sorry for taking forever but I took a break from Oblivion to play The Witcher in anticipation of TW2 coming out soon and just went to fix my install again.

Same thing.

Now this is different, because oblivion is now ~*steam-free*~ and has a relatively light mod load yet it still crashes.

Any idea? It's been bashed, BOSS'd, LODGEN'd, everything I can think of and yet it still crashes on the first load. Runs fine with just oblivion.esm and the DLC's loaded.

Sorry to put my two cents in, but did you clean your registry? Sometimes there may be something in registry that could cause your problem. Also, I know it's a big pain but try loading a few mods in at a time and check the game. I find that is the best way for me to find the errant mod.

Yeah, I loaded it one mod at a time. FCOM works fine it's anything after is when it becomes a crapshoot.

And yeah, registry is clean of oblivion!

I do not see FCOM_BobsArmory.esp, And I do not see OMOBS.esp. You also are not using the Item interchange-placement for FCOM.esp, and the Item Interchange-Placement for Frostcrag.esp
Add these four esp's to your install and then rebuild your Bashed Patch.
EDIT the first one is a part of the FCOM 9.9 download, the next one is available from TESNexus. The last two are part of Cobl 1.72.
EDIT # 2 I forgot that you need the Item-Interchange-Extraction.esp as well, it is also a part of Cobl 1.72.

Alright, installed FCOM_BobsArmory.esp and Item Interchange as well as getting rid of Salmo but still crashes.

The above is simply not true.

If your load order starts up reliably until you activate the bashed patch, at which point the game crashes on start-up -

Q: What version of Wrye Bash are you running? There was a bug in a recent-ish release that caused such crashes if you had a category of bash options checked without having any mods in that category checked. That bug has been fixed.
Q: What bashed patch options are you checking? For instance, if you check the FormID option without having the mods it is meant to change loaded, then activating the bashed patch will cause crash on start-up.
Q: What bashed patch options are you checking? If you are checking animation replacing options without having the mods they depend on loaded, then activating the bashed patch can cause crash on start-up.
Q: Is it a crash on start-up you are experiencing? Or crash on loading a save game? Or after the game starts?
Q: Does the bashed patch show a "missing masters" line in the infobox at the bottom of the mods tab? If so, an option you have checked may have made the bashed patch dependent on a mod not loaded. If this is the case, select the bashed patch and read the list of masters in the box on the right side of the mods tab to see what is listed as a master that you do not have loaded.

1. The version of Wyre Bash I'm using reports itself as "0" but it's a beta that dosen't require python and is a EXE.

2. The bashed options I am running are: merge patches, import actors, aipackages, animations, death items, spells, cells, factions, graphics, inventory, NPC faces, names, relations, roads, scripts, stats, and tweak names (dwarven>dwemer) as well as tweak settings (darnified books). I also have the UOP vampire aging fix in the patch. Along with all this I have leveled lists checked.

3. Crash on start-up.

4.No missing masters.

Try without checking anything in animations and without checking the animations option box itself.

Else, report in Wrye Bash thread. Probably would've been a good idea to state at the beginning that you are using a beta release.

I am using the Stand-alone beta 2 myself, but I also have the Cobl Catalogs and Contents Checker selected. I also have the Race Records and SEWorld Test checked.
I am using BAIN as an installer, and I had to follow Alt3rn1ties Pictorial Guide to get my DarkUId_DarN to work.<---- The DarkUId-DarN could be an issue if not installed correctly, and this issue would not show up in a Load Order.
EDIT I also have my Import Actors: Animations section checked, but it is checked because I am using a mod that adds animations that need to be imported into my Bashed Patch.

Just a reminder....lets say you installed Dark_Darn UI thru OBMM...it edited your INI for you ..(to add the Fonts)

Now at some point later you find you Need to let Oblivion regenerate your INI . You loose your Edits!! you would then need to either RE-install Dark_Darn OR edit the INI to add in the Fonts again .

Without the Proper fonts listed in the INI it will never load.

Does the game only crash when you have the Bashed Patch activated? What OBSE plugins are you using? Would it be possible to get screenshots of your Bashed Patch configuration, or at least the readme?

Is their anything that is actually listed on the Right side? Do any mods get tagged with roads? Loading 230+ mods here and still don't have any showing on the Roads . But if you do then its all good.

If you click a box on the right side. if nothing on right DEselect that option.

Edit:
Would it be possible to get screenshots of your Bashed Patch configuration, or at least the readme?
I even gave location of said file back on page 2 of this thread.:)
