[Relz] Oblivion -Elys- Uncapper ( OBSE plugin ) #2

Post » Tue Sep 14, 2010 7:08 pm

Elys, I really like this mod. I used to use Talkie Toaster's, but he highly recommended yours should replace his, so I went with his recommendation. I'm glad I did.

I was wondering: You've probably been asked this before, but Sheogorath has 10,000 Magicka per the Prima Guide Book (under the topic "Killing Sheogorath"). Since by virtue of possessing the Staff of Sheogorath, you have supposedly both the power and the authority he held over the Isles. It would still be in-character if you were able to progress to 10,000 Magicka, as long as the SI MQ was completed.

Would you consider modifying your Uncapper mod to allow for that progression, if your character is Sheogorath? Thanks for considering this request.

Reaching 10000 Magicka just by your character attributes is unlikely. And going beyond the level 200 cap for natives attributes is not good because it will reset to 0 past 255. That's why I limited the Uncapper to 200 (which leaves some space for eventual script bonus alteration your character can encounter during the game)
Also with the Uncapper, if you ever reach level 200 in a magic school, each spell in that school will cost 0 or 1 magicka to cast. So It's in kinda like relatively having a unlimited pool of magicka.

Now lore wise, if you really have your Sheogorath-promoted character to have 10000 Magicka, the best way is to simply do it by script, giving a Magicka Ability Bonus to the player once he becomes the new Sheogorath ;)

Thanks, Elys. A different question, if I may.

Since you have provided for skill progression up to 200, would you consider possibly adding an OBSE change to where the Expert Trainers will still train you when you are between 100-200 (perhaps a "one-shot deal" limitation)?

I don't know. You better ask in the TIE topic mod :)

I'm using legendary mastery. What advantages will I take by using the Uncapper?

That would be not bad. Reading "Note: How to switch from Legendary Mastery to the Uncapper", I think the Uncapper gives me merits as well. It is more logical and reasonable. So I decide to use it instead of my old companion, Legendary Mastery.

But I have a question about it. My char is nearly newly created. Her level is only 2, which means none of her stats and skills exceed 100. In this case, do I have to do series of things in the note? I think it's not needed, but I want to make sure for a rainy day.

My old chars have many stats and skills over 100, but I don't think I will play them again. They're just stored :(

Use the Uncapper togther with Grandmaster of Alchemy and Legendary Abilities and you'll have benefits for all your skills in a reasonable way. You can even choose if you want Reflect Damage, Shield or Fortify Health effects for Heavy and Light Armor above 100.

Does this work with leveling mods, like KCAS?

I don't know, I've never used KCAS. Maybe someone else with both KCAS and the Uncapper experiencewill be able to answer your question :)
You could also ask it in the KCAS topic eventually.

Is this compatible with any leveling mod(NGCD, KCAS, AF leveling, etc.). KCAS was just a example.

Well the matter is that I never used any of them so I don't know. There is only Legendary Mastery that I know of about alternative leveling mod.

I seem to remember than NGCD is compatible with the Uncapper, as reported before. You could read this whole topic as well as the #1 to find eventual more answers or wait from other users input here :)

Is it normal that I already get declared "master" at 99 skill points? I switched from Toaster's Legendary Mastery, which did give me mastery at 99, and my understanding was that the Uncapper works differently, so I'm a bit unsure whether it works correctly now? I used the special cleaning mod before switching (even though this chars highest skills were only at 98), and the OBSE log shows that the uncapper is loaded; related mods I'm using are Waldo's Legendary Abilities and Realistic Leveling.

Another question, any conflict with Adrenaline combat or oblivion xp ?

Thanks for the good work !

I know it is compatible with XP levelling, which in turn is compatible with Darnified UI. very very nice.

Does anyone know what this actually does, besides "allow" the numbers to go over 100? Are the numbers just for looks, or do they actually do anything? Is having 175 Blade any better than having 100 Blade? I have installed this, along with Oblivion XP, and have used the Oblivion XP config to set the attributes and skills caps at 200. I just don't know what that does, if anything. Anyone know?

Sorry, was this for me? I don't really understand you. But here's the download page: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=13841, and it does indeed say that Weapon damage, h2h, and magicka are affected... it doesn't give any specifics. Like what the formulas are, or how each skill/attribute plug into said formula.

Anyone have the math on this?

I can't speak for Elys, but I assume that the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:The_Complete_Damage_Formula, but without the skills and attributes limited to 100.

Ah-hah. There it is. Thank you!

Of course, on a side note, some of the values use an attribute number/100 or a skill number/100, etc. So when the caps go up, I assume the divisors go up, too?
