I have OBSE in my Oblivion root dir, so does that mean the dll gets dropped into a /plugins/ subdir?

I'm sorry, this is probably a very noob question but I cannot find the Date/OBSE/plugins folder. I tried unpacking Obse_0014a.zip again but no folder showed up nor was it mentioned anywhere in the readme's. Help would be much appreciated.

OBSE doesn't have plugins by default, so you have to create the directory given to you in the readme.

Ok, thanks. In the readme it says by default the folder should exist. I probably just misinterpreted it.

Yeah, actually only the C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data part is default. The OBSE guys have mentioned making the plugins folder part of the OBSE install soon, since there are starting to be a few plugins for it now.

In the OBSE log, I get this:

''OBSE: initialize (version = 14 010201A0)
oblivion root = C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\
plugin directory = C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data\OBSE\Plugins\
patched''

Indicating that Elys uncapper is not being loaded. I have created the file directory (made OBSE folder-- Made Plugins folder- extracted dll here) and extracted into that directory. I have OBSE v 14.a.

help please?

The exact filepath copied from properties.
''C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data\OBSE\Plugins''

Does this help pinpoint my silliness. :D

Dang. Is the uncapper supposed to be 12kb and an application extension?

I did get windows updated recently. Maybe a change to Win32?. Doubt it though, otherwise people with updated WinXP would be getting problems. AFAIK this mod even works for Vista. Am I supposed to make the folders in a special way? I just made plain file folders.

Maybe I should try re-downloading? (I use XP btw).

''CRC32 = E533E29B'' Can I check this to determine if the file is corrupt or something?

No, nothing special is required.

What about your eventual Antivirus ? I'm not aware of any false alarm antivirus problem with the Uncapper, but since I have no idea what is wrong for you, try to disable your antivirus for a test ?

Yes if you have mean to see the CRC. But I think you would get more an error than nothing if the DLL was corrupted anyway.

The obse.log shows that when you starts OBSE, it does not see any DLL in the \Plugins\ folder. So if OBSE_Elys_Uncapper.dll is installed correctly, I have not idea why OBSE does not see it on your system.

Would that mean disabling auto-protect temporarily? I use Symantec. If that doesn't disable I'm not sure how I'm supposed to do it.

Yes. I really doubt Symantec may be the problem however.

My humble apologies.... I am a silly fool at times. Discovered I just opened the WRONG file lol. Looking at the real log file, I get this:

OBSE: initialize (version = 14 010201A0)
oblivion root = C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\
plugin directory = C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data\OBSE\Plugins\
checking plugin C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data\OBSE\Plugins\\OBSE_Elys_Uncapper.dll
plugin C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data\OBSE\Plugins\\OBSE_Elys_Uncapper.dll (00000001 OBSE_Elys_Uncapper 0000005E) loaded correctly
patched
OBSE: deinitialize

That seems about right if I'm not mistaken.

Instead of the obse text doc I accidentally opened up the obse LOG0 file before.

I still get: ''this is not a valid Oblivion plugin file'' in the data launcher though. However, I'm not sure if this is a problem. Probably not since the uncapper loaded correctly anyway.

Well, sorry for being an @$$ and wasting you're time opening up a similarly named file by error.

It shows the Uncapper is loaded correctly.

As for ''this is not a valid Oblivion plugin file'', I dunno what you've done, but the Uncapper is not related at all with Oblivion Plugins.
And if you attempted to install the DLL as some Oblivion plugin using whatever trick you may have done, for sure Oblivion won't like it :P
Check your Oblivion Data options, you prolly have one bad plugin file activated in the list.

umm. . . sorry for this seemingly really stupid question, but I can't extract the folder for some reason (says it's corrupted or something)

yo elys, just a question, my akills above 100 are showing as green text, and yesterday I've installed darkui interface, noticed it displays the bonus applied when skills are green texted, +1 +5 10+ and so on, so now I can see that some of my skills are 101 +9 (ending up 101 of course) but others are 102 + 8... so, isnt they supposed to be 100 + bonuses? or is that ok after all?
