Oblivion - Funniest Moments Two

Post » Mon Jan 04, 2010 1:30 am

woke up at dive rock just in time to see a deer run off it... followed by a gaurd (shouting "stop, thief!", i might add)

I can imagine that, and merely that is making me giggle. :D

Anyways, I use the Realistic Physics and Force mod nowadays, so I don't see them anymore, but I still remember all those frictionless dead bears sliding headfirst down a hill at supersonic speeds. Always made me laugh.

Also, mudcrabs seem to like me as well, at least those that live in ruins and caves. They never attack me, and one even finished off a wounded marauder for me.
It looked hilarious too, I was duking it out with the marauder in some Ayleid ruin, while the mudcrab was just chilling around about two feet away. And just when the marauder only had a few HP left, the crab decides he doesn't like the guy anymore, goes RAAARR (you know the way they lift their pincers when they get aggressive), skitters up behind the marauder and pinches him once. Marauder goes "Ooh", jumps up and forwards and drops dead. The crab then goes back to minding its own business.

Also, I have added some silly stuff in the Battle music folder of the game. Running around the Bruma castle barracks with a dozen guards chasing you with http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXLqMB6vBic playing was pretty hysterical. :frog:

You ought to try it with the Benny Hill theme instead...

Yah, I thought of that actually, but in the end I decided it was a little too obvious a joke. Also, I've had a bit of an overdose of that track anyways. ;)
BUT! I also have Bobby McFerrin's Don't Worry, Be Happy.

Yesterday when doing a couple of randowm experiments a rat jumped at me, I was in a hallway slightly lower then than the platform the rat jumped from, I backed up to pincushion it but before I could shoot the rat dropped dead in front of me. o_0 I think because it jumped downwards it took lethal damage. I lolled.

That song would be pretty funny as the battle music for Slaughterfish... :D

(Anyone who has seen a certain piscean novelty item in Target and other such stores will get the joke)

I was closing a random Oblivion Gate, and was at the bottom of the main tower. I was searching for the door, when a flaming clannfear corpse fell to the pool in the middle. I've no clue how that happened :lmao:

At a guess, a Xivilai or Dremora Kynaz above you saw you and summoned one, and in trying to reach you it jumped off into the Pillar of Flame?. Unless you meant you were outside the tower, in which case I have no clue as there's nothing above the door for anyone/thing to stand on much less throw flaming critters at you.

It was inside the tower, and as the clannfear was dead when it fell, it wasn't a summoned one. Well, no wonder dinosaurs went extinct if they all behaved like that :P

Well, it could have been summoned but there's no way to know, so...

The pillar does like 10K Fire damage so if it had been summoned and touched the pillar on the way to reaching you it would die instantly but continue falling.

However, since you're pretty sure it wasn't then I have no idea how it got there.

Latest funny moment:

During an early morning visit to Skingrad I ran into beggar Nigidius the Needy who was looking at Glarthir corpse (a victim of an earlier incident). He eventually sees me and asked for a coin. After giving him one and then moving out of his line of sight, he immediately goes back to the corpse. For the next few minutes he continues pacing back and forth around the body as if he wants to do something but keeps getting interrupted by either guards or some other NPC.

Eventually when the coast is clear Nigidius stops in front of the corpse, he kneels down, and (I kid you not!!) starts either tickling or poking Glarthir's foot. He continues doing this off and on for a minute or two until I walk up to him again. But as soon as I walk away he resumes doing the same thing.

LOL! I wonder if the corpse will still be there when I eventually come back to Skingrad.

I haven't played in a while but:

I saw the Orc gang of cheydinhal walk around town. one of them stopped and talked to a guard. Let me repeat this. HE STOPPED. THE GUARD DIDN'T STOP HIM, HE STOPPED AND STARTED THE CONVERSATION.
Anyway, this is the conversation:

orc: Hello!
Guard: Hi.
orc: Ooo look a fly. Look at me everyone! I'm talking to a fly. Buzz Buzz Buzz.

The guard didn't take to kindly to this as he immediately attacked the orc.

Oh, it has to be when you are doing the Cheydinhall reccomendation quest, and before you do if you listen to the people talking, they are discussing the strange taste of the well water! - Very funny !!!

Funny thing that happened in the game from a mod: Cats mod, adds housecats to the game - The guard in Anvil who hates cats was chasing the housecats around with his sword out, hollering "I've fought mud crabs more fierce-some than you!"

Funniest mod I've ever seen: The "real" male Khajiit mod (I don't know the technical name for it) - it will make you roll on the floor laughing!!!!!

This one time, during the Path of Dawn, I accidentally hit Baurus in the head with an arrow. It didn't kill him. After we defeated the Mythic Dawn people, he walked toward the door he would normally go through to leave, but he just walked in place. Then, he turned around, went back to the table and chair, sat down, got back up, and finally continued normally. I think the arrow made him stupid- or it just ticked him off and started wandering around to annoy me.

Oh, and if you want to have a laugh at my own stupidity- during the Cheydinhal Mages Guild rec quest, I got myself locked in Falcar's room. Woot.

Well, I get Martin and Jauffre to Cloud Ruler Temple. It took a while as I temporarily lost Jauffre--I think he and his horse fell off a cliff. At least that's all I can figure. I heard a male scream, looked back and Martin was standing in an area I knew was clear of critters with his weapon drawn and there was no sign of Jauffre. He showed up much later on foot. Never saw the horse again.

Anyway, we get to Cloud Ruler and Jauffre introduces Martin, who starts to make his speech, but one by one all the Blades and Jauffre suddenly start running down the steps to the temple door. By the time he finishes everybody but me is gone and he's talking to air. Shortly after that I checked and there's a dead imp at the foot of the stairs. Stupid thing must have flapped it's little wings for miles following us from somewhere. And, poor Martin, he gears up for this big speech and no one's interested. :shakehead:

A NPC talks to another NPC:

NPC1: Have you heard anything from the other provinces?
NPC2:*SNORT*
NPC1:NOO!!!!
NPC2: Indeed.
ME:

Another one:

I was walking towards Wildeye stables when a deer passed me. Nothing strange yet. Another deer passed me. Another one. And a last one.
Then a sheep came. Then two sheep. Then three sheep.
Then 4 trolls came. 3 imps. 2 ogres. 4 wild horses. I thought the system became crazy :banghead: . After that 5 wolves, 3 lions, and finally, 10 Dremoras.
"My game is completely messed up!" i thought. when i got to Wildeye stables everything was inside the enclosemant, just being there! Then one of the stable workers went out, the aggresive animals attacked him/her i don't remember and after that the animals attacked each other! in 5 real minutes, everything was dead (After i used my spell caution, an AoE Spell). Trolls, Dremoras, imps, sheep, deer, wolves, lions, horses, and ogres rained over the surrounding area, i got an ogre on me. Ouch.

Damn, there was no option for "Giggle insanely" so I couldn't vote in the poll. :( But for the first question, I'd say it's a combination of all of the ones mentioned and then some more.

I just finished the Mage's Guild Quest where the Bruma Mages' Guild goes up in flames. I finish up, rescue the lone survivor, go to the armor shop down the street to get my armor repaired, and when I walk out there's Jeannie Frasoric, who I'd just left lying dead on her bedroom floor, having a nice chat about the weather or something with a passing alchemist.

I certainly didn't resurrect her....

Then a while later Alberic Litte is talking to Athragar in the Chorrol Mages' Guild:

Litte: Have you every considered joining the Mages' Guild? I hear you can learn some great spells there.
Athrager: I thought about it when I was younger, but it just wasn't me.

Note: I have never heard this conversation before in the game. But two seconds after he finished talking with Athregar about it, he had the same conversation with his wife....

I think the MG has gone a little weird on me....

:turned:

NPC comments can be funny.

Like when my character is sneaking in a cave and two bandits are talking to each other. Then I kill one of them with several shots of my bow. The other doesn't see my character and comments over the arrow ridden corpse of his friend "It must have been the wind"

I've got a few videos of funny events.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjaPLtmXrYg - Varsa Baalim is a strange place indeed.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kC1-3AbJRg - fun with paralyzing arrows.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVHNOOyatdg - to quote Benny from Fallout: New Vegas, "What in the [censored]..."
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dPqOEkjCRJ8 - Sometimes when you're a town guard, people randomly sprout arrows in the side of their head and fall down dead. Just part of the job description.

Just happened now, I was in the bandit bit of Vilverin, near the 2nd to last bandit in the first area (female dark elf).

I put on some iron gauntlets to level my block and heavy armour - I'm going for a mage and needed some endurance points.

once I got the amount of level ups I wanted I summoned a zombie and started casting fire spells - not very effective.
I start walking back to get more range, when she says: `Now you'll feel pain`
just as she says this, my zombie downward double slaps her, dead :)

It's funny when they says they'll kill you and suddenly die themselves

I've got a three, from the past gaming sessions:

1. In an Oblivion Plane, ran up to see the door to the damn tunnel that I have to go through, but it's blocked by those fire mines and a Daedroth. I fire an arrow at the Daedroth, he gets knocked back, falls onto a mine, shoots in the air, falls on another mine, shoots in the air, falls to the ground dead. (On a funny sidenote: if you use an AOE spell on a paralyzed victim, they go shooting off.... it's especially funny on the side of a cliff.)

2. I get home to my Cheydinhal home to find a cluster of people around my front door, and I can't get in! So I force my way through the crowd. Once inside, I had a thought to mine the inside of my front door, but then I remembered that I wasn't playing FO3... The next day, the same cluster of people are at my front door! So the next day when I leave, I close the iron gate in front of my home, and the problem goes away.

3. I was walking near the shore near the big bridge to the IC, when I happened upon mud crab central. Not wanting to deal, I attempted to summon a clannsfear, but chose the wrong one and summoned a faded wraith instead. The wraith successfully silenced all the mudcrabs.... and that's all he did before he faded. So I had to deal.

I posted this in the thread in the General forum http://i1124.photobucket.com/albums/l573/Garanok/Oblivion%20Screenies/ScreenShot26.jpg

Just a moment ago I was in the Imperial Bridge Inn. As I went down the stairs Audens Avidius attacked my character. I let him hit me then my mage retaliates. An Imperial Guard that was at the inn rushes over to help. Audens goes down and the guard starts attacking me. I yield to the guard who accepts. Three seconds later I initiate a conversation with him and he says; "Trouble?"

Not overly funny but it made me chuckle.

I was in the Bravil mages guild hall, and Varon Vamori came over for a visit. He went upstairs and watched Ardaline as she slept. (I always knew that guy was a creeper.) I decided to practice some illusion magic on him, and as soon I did, Ardaline got up, then lied back down. I imagined her thought process went like, "Someone's being attacked? Oh, it's just Varon. Nevermind then."
