Heh, after playing Doom 3 it takes a whole lot more to give me goosebumps than a simple troll
Wow, i still get goosebumps if my char. gets surprise-attacked. Trolls are the worst because they're so damn quick. Dyan got attacked by like 3 of them the other day, in an area which we had previously never seen trolls. Her KotN companion got quickly killed by the ambush, and Dyan would have also perished had I not had like a dozen health potions on-tap. It freaked me out so bad.
Granted, I used to get freaked out by simple sound effects back when I was new to the game!
Like that one that sounds like a branch bending in the wind. Dude I used to get so many goosebumps back in 2008.
Same here! I can still remember playing the very earliest ones on PC. My ten-year old self begged my dad to go on the internet at work and print off some walkthroughs when I got stuck. He did as well. What an amazing time.
I can't play them anymore though. I got Legend for my xbox and I never got past the first level. Lost its charm for sure.
Legend was
awesome because Lara could do all these cool new moves, and it had plenty of old-fashioned tomb raiding, too. Damn, Now i'm wanting to get back into this game now that we're talking about it. But then, I get all obsessed with having to collect all the tokens and whatnot, needing to look for spoilers on tombraiders.net, etc.

One of my great joys is drop to third-person and watch my avatar traverse the many roads and trails of Cyrodiil. The play of light and shadow on his backplate. The gentle sway of his mount's posterior. Its swishing tail. The steady clip-clop of hooves on pavement. Wind rustling. Birds chirping. Breathtaking scenery. What more could a fellow ask for? Very soothing. Almost hypnotic.
