Before you guys start thinking he is a noob, he is actually right. Will there be?

Anyone remember Peryite? He opened a gate of his own to Oblivion for his quest

If nothing else, seeing the ruins of a few would be interesting. Perhaps they could be surrounded by the site of a huge battle, for obvious reasons.

There are actually 2 Oblivion "portals" not so much gates that are active in Tamriel after the events of Oblivion if my memory serves, but will there be gates in Skyrim? Veeeeeeeeeeeerrrrryyyyy unlikely.

If anything they would be the portals that the Daedra Lords themselves open, to their own private world. Weren't there a few of them who did that in OB?

They have been closed, but Daedra Lords can still transport people to their respective planes of Oblivion, in small numbers.Mages can also summon Daedra from Oblivion.

Someone mentioned coming across shards of Mehrune's Razor in an interview. Maybe re-forging the dagger will allow you to somehow open a gate to Oblivion.

Yes! Peryite is an example of this, he opens a portal for you into his realm to save his followers who forced themselves into a permanent unconsciousness trying to "reach" him. You get a nice shiny new shield for it too.

Probably not the gates from Oblivion (the game,) but the Dadric shrines may send you there.

I must've missed that one. I think the Daedra quests are the only things in that game I've never completed. I've done maybe three or four, but need to finish the others. :|

That's true, although, I still don't think it's at all likely that there will be Oblivion gates in Skyrim. Peryite's quest was still in Oblivion. The Oblivion gates were part of Oblivion. Bethesda is, as with each of it's games, starting fresh with Skyrim. I doubt they would use something that was so integral and specific to a previous game.

I always thought I heard that the PC gets to explore an Oblivion Realm? Not the same one in TES IV mind you.
