Oblivion Graphics Extender, Thread 13

Is this required for both directional shadows and my other suggestion (dunno how it is called, perhaps, "depth" occlusion, so that tree trunks would not occlude the light if there's no surface directly behind them)?
I'd think it can be achieved by sampling the depth at the pixel being shaded and checking if it exceeds a certain threshold. Won't be performance friendly though.

Corrected. If you've got an idea of how this can be achieved, do tell - The issue could definitely use a fix.

I wish I could say how exactly to go about fixing it, but I honestly have no idea, especially considering I don't exactly know how the plugin reads what in the game. I don't really have knowledge about these sort of things...I just play the mods, not make them. ( I would like to make a mod, but I know that won't ever happen)

Exactly my point!

That must to a large extent fix the stupid way grass, trees, and even characters look with SSAO.
