Because OBGE can't initialize, the shaderlist and OBGE's log file haven't been created. I'm 99% sure it's installed properly, so I'm clueless. Is this a known problem?

I had the same problem. It's because you don't have the right directX libraries - they don't seem to come with new installations of windows. There's an old web installer floating around somewhere, but i've lost the link. Try searching the forums.

Don't know if this has been reported already, but while using the ssao_perf shader, I have noticed that at some angles I get odd flickering gray horizontal lines on water surfaces. They only seem to show up on the upper half of the screen.

I've been trying the godrays of this mod, and they are great. However, there... are some things that bother me.

For instance, at noon, the sunlight is way too weak. I've tried for hours to change values, but whenever I tend to increase the sunlight it get other weird effects (like seeing "walls of sunlight" ahead of you, since the sunlight comes from directly above you). Also, at sunset and sunrise, it's beautiful, BUT... the strong sunlight affects everything around it (ex: the ground becomes very bright where the sun is).
It would be great if someone helped me with tweaking these values.

I also noticed that with the godrays, it's not possible to have AA on
If anyone knows how to override this... please tell!

Lastly, I'm not sure if this is an issue or not... but when I tried to install that end run-time directx update, it didn't work. The installation got interreupted right before finishing by some error message.
I checked the logs but I can't interperet them. Strange... but everything still seems to work, so I guess I'll not bother with it.

At noon, things didn't work as intended, so increasing might not be a good idea. Also, it is called Crepuscular rays for a reason. :) You may try playing with time variables and make the evening start a little early, like 1 and end sunrise at 11. Something like that. Also note that, I have 1 hour transition, so you have to have some room for it. 11-1, has two hours, should do it. You can try 10-2, if something goes wrong.

I will have a look at brightness issues.

This link will get you to an offline installer for Directx.
http://filehippo.com/download_directx/

And AA problem is not about godrays shader directly, any obge shader will have the issue. Scanti is working on it for sure.

Don't know if this has been reported already, but while using the ssao_perf shader, I have noticed that at some angles I get odd flickering gray horizontal lines on water surfaces. They only seem to show up on the upper half of the screen.

http://i987.photobucket.com/albums/ae353/popcorn71/Jul2201023_44_05.jpg
..

That can be fixed with some future OBGE updates. A mask needs to be created to exclude water.

@Daedra,
Try the shaderlist for godrays, be sure to disable it in ingame plugin, we don't want to enable it twice. Also make sure it is v4.(from tesnexus.)

Godrays and Colormood and SSAO made a HUGE difference in the visuals.
However, the SSAO water banding issue and the fog issue is bit of a bummer.
Hope they can be fixed soon.
Thanks for all ur work
