Hello forum. I recently bought Oblivion from Steam. Whenever I try to save my game, or Alt-Tab out of the game, it crashes to desktop and I get an error saying 'Oblivion has stopped working'. I have not downloaded any mods, so that can't be the problem. Does anyone have a solution?

It's just the "Oblivion.exe has stopped working" error?

I got that alot and it was due to RAM issues.

So I downloaded a program that allowed Oblivion to use more then 2GB of ram and I haven't crashed since, even with all my mods.

Also, have you downloaded the unofficial oblivion patch?

I can't link anything right now as I'm having a bit of trouble connecting to nexus, but I'm sure someone else can help.

Yep, that's the one. I downloaded the Unofficial patch, but it hasn't fixed the error. Out of curiosity, what program did you use to fix the issue?

It's called "CFF Explorer"

There's a guide on youtube for it and you can download it from the nexus.

You'll have to use it on both the Oblivion.exe and the OBSE loader.exe.
