Oblivion Lets plays

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 10:48 am

Hey guys, I was wondering how many people out there like watching other people play games, namely oblivion in this instance but overall as well. I personally find watching other peoples play styles and listening to their opinions about the game very interesting. I've even watched several lets plays for the same game, just with different people! Some of the better commentators I've found are Teogoff, Gix, Quill18, SSoHPKC, Hamsteralliance.

In fact I was so inspired by their videos that I myself have begin doing a lets play of Oblivion.

So....am I just weird?

P.S. - This is my Youtube channel if anyone was interested in checking my lets play. http://www.youtube.com/user/Slanderbot

I like your voice, it isn't annoying as most voices are. I think I'll follow the Let's play. Oh, and your list should include LordVega or something... he's so cool, I love him! Although he did quit...

The only one I've ever watched was Microsoft Sam Plays Oblivion. I guess they just don't interest me enough to seek them out and watch them. Likewise, I love playing sports but I have zero interest in watching other people play sports. I don't see the attraction.

I don't really watch 'em that often. I usually can't stand 99% of the 'Tube population.

I like watching let′s plays once in a while, but most important than the game itself, it′s the entertainment value of the player. If the person playing is funny, and it′s the first playthrough, I usually keep watching.

I watched Gix let's play and liked it, but I stopped around episode 20 or so because it simply took up too much time. I'd rather play myself that watch someone else do it.

I might watch a "Let's Play" for a game I'm interested in purchasing to see if it fits with what I like. Other than that I'd rather play for an hour myself and if I need pvssyr I have the voices in my head.

I never watch them, because I haven't come across people that have interesting enough audio commentary to bring enough new stuff to the game I've seen a gazillion times first hand. No offense to you, your video seemed interesting and if I had the time at the moment I'd probably watch it. :)

I only watch those "lets play" for Old games, that I would not bother tracking down, like Hotel Mario, All those CD-I Zelda titles, and those Educational Mario rip offs. And I do so, because the way the video maker reacts to how crappy they are is hilarious. But I don't watch them for good games. I will gladly play those myself.

I read all of Zink's Charlie Manhuge LP, but that was image rather than video, so I don't know if he had an annoying voice. It is really funny though so I recommend you all check it out!

I generally I think they are extremely boring, but I just watched yours, and I did enjoy the comments a bit. Love the part "I'm doing airquotes but you can't see it" :)

It was kinda disappointingthough that you didn't get past character creation. I hope the next parts have some more content.

I've watched his as well, and am currently subscribed. I think he is funny and watching his videos amuse me quite a bit. I don't find him annoying.

I watched some guy Bashur trying to figure out how to fix his LOD mods for about 20 min!

It was surprisingly interesting.

I watched your video, and yeah, it's pretty good. Just, I don't tend to watch things like that on youtube. I watch motorsports/extreme sports and music videos on youtube pretty much exclusively. That said, I'll probably check back every now and then to your user. I enjoy seeing how other people play.

Yes, I have recently discovered that I love watching Let's Plays. The thing is, you have to find a talented and interesting LPer. Most of the are frankly terrible; either the quality of their video is poor and they didn't care enough to redo it, or they simply aren't very interesting with their commentaries. Gix and Veriax are both LPing Oblivion, and they are both fantastic LPers. Toegoff, too, is one I really enjoy watching, though I don't think he has done or ever will do an Elder Scrolls LP.

I look forward to checking out the OP's videos.

I watched L0rdVega's, and subscribed to him because of that. Gix and Veriax both have very good role-playing LPs, I highly suggest them.

I watch playthrough's and let's plays all the time, but only the ones with minimal to no talking because I usually do it so i can see the storyline of games I don't want to buy myself. Games that are amazing and have cool storylines but limited replay value (like uncharted singleplayer, shadow of the collosus, dead space)... If i want to hear someone talk while i watch them play I use justin.tv for streams, because in that we can actually talk back and it isn't just some guy rambling on for hours with noone talking back to him.

Games like oblivion and fallout I play myself, because they are games geared toward people that want to play how they want and make their own storyline.

Gix and Veriax both have very good Oblivion LPs in-progress. 3rd Place would have to go to Nagidal146. Honorable mention to Bashur. L0rd Vega is good for overview stuff, but he tends to power-game and rush through things rather than enjoying the experience.

The opening line of every episode should be, "I saw a mudcrab today. Ugly creatures."

i watch a lot of people play loads of different games, but always seek out the oblivion ones. However I do not do this online it is mainly with friends or when hanging out down the local computer shops :)

I like to watch "Oblivion Lets Plays" to see how the other people play, and... well... learn some things.

Generally not for Oblivion. It depends on what the commentary is about. Most of the time it seems to be pretty mundane. I would like to watch some funny ones though.

I love watching lets plays...sort off...

Oblvion in itself is not one of the better games to do a lets play on, but if you really want to watch a lets play, go and watch the Amnesia: The Dark Decent lets play, now that is funny and entertaining :)

I wish Spoony would do a Lets Play of an Elder Scrolls game, his Final Fantasy and SWAT 4 review/lets plays are hilarious.
