[Relz/WIPz] Oblivion Makeover

Post » Mon Oct 04, 2010 1:47 am

Cannot find the comments because apparently the mod already removed.

Why do you let trolls get the best of you? Their trolls. Who cares what they think?

Anyone with half a brain will see if a comment is groundless or inane.

Joke em if they can't take a f___.

If it is that bothersome try http://www.invision.tesalliance.org/forums/ where they don't even have ratings and such. People tend to be way more polite there.

Seconded. :foodndrink: TESA is run by modders and so we endeavor to take the best care of them we can. Only Staff and VIP members can rate files. :D They have the most to lose and so are less likely to abuse the privilege. Come have a look and if you have any questions, PM me. I'm usually around somewhere and more than happy to answer questions.

Ehh...I see no point in continuing this project. Motovation lost, trolls on Nexus commenting to "stay away from these textures", etc etc. Project disbanned and thread will be locked accordingly

it is safe to say for every 1 [censored] who dismisses your work, there are 1000 people who appreciate and enjoy your mods

Please don't. My game is far purtier because of your work.

Trolls get their kicks precisely because of what you are planning to do. If you remove your work and withdraw from modding, you just gave every troll out there instant gratification. Don't reward them.

I don't understand why would anyone consider what trolls have to say? I've seen many modders disturbed by trolls and stopped modding because of that.

But why? There are obviously many kinds of people in the world, with different personalities, and we all like some kind of mods and not others. I love some mods and dislike some mods when I first see them. I personally won't start commenting on the mods I don't like for nothing, but obviously some people do, but what can you do about them as a modder except ignore them and be happy that there are other people that enjoy your work.

Besides, they are just writing some messages on a forum, you can safely ignore them, and they will go away. You can just scroll fast until you get to the good and useful messages.

Or you can turn comments off. As long as you leave comments on you have to be prepared for negative comments. No matter how good your mod is there will always be someone who will leave negative comments either out of spite, jelausoy, pure malice or because they are too stupid to breathe and unpack a zip file at the same time.

please put it back! im planning on returning to Oblivion and i want to beautify my world with your work!

and from now on, every troll i see in-game i will pursue and hack mercilessly as a symbol of my loathing for the real life trolls that adversely affect good modding.

As Petrus suggested, you can disable comments on Nexus. If you upload to a new page with comments disabled, no one can comment and no one can rate. Or as Psymon suggested, there are other sites such as TES Alliance which offer space for uploading mods.

I also would like to request AmpolX to reconsider your position to continuw this mod. I love your work (your cave textures are amazing, and give me a nice change from QTP3).

I think you should mod because you love it, and really ignore most comments (positive and negative), as they were not the reason you started to mod. The positive ones ccan reinforce you, abut the negative ones can kill motivation - best turn comments off, or go the TESA route.

hi AmpolX, I hope you will release again your oblivion makeover. No matter how good your work will be some trolls will always say that it is not worth it. Whoever was gifted with a brain can surely understand that yours is a nice job.

Just found this mod and now its gone? Great timing for me. Was hoping to download it too. Shouldn't let immature little peons get the best of you. Who cares what they think.

Its not really the trolls, but just a major lack of motovation in my life at the moment. I started probably seven mod projects (villages, other texture work, etc etc) in the past month and could not commit to a single thing. I lost the spark to mod one can say and seeing troll comments just kind of further kills a dying flame. Im on the verge of wiping my hard drive clean to start over on my PC so I will probably upload what I had released in my time here to TESAlliance but as far as continuing this goes, I can say that things won't progress any further for a long time. It's not really anything big will happen upon them now, maybe a few more downloads, but the whole package didn't start off well; incomplete and unplanned.

Ah damn. Sorry to hear you feel that way, Amp. :(

Now, I know I'm just another person out here on the internet and all, but my 100% honest perspective on this is that your Oblivion texturing work is, quite simply, the best out there.

And I know for certain that I'm not the only one with that perspective.

I mean, for what it might be worth, but I just had to say something. Also, I too would love to see anything further you might, at any stage, feel like doing.

And thanks, for what you have done. It's appreciated! :foodndrink:
