Oblivion Mod Manager Error Message When Attempting to Open

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 3:28 am

Hi guys, well I hoped this wouldn't have to be my first post on the forums but, well, it is...
I'm having trouble opening up OBMM, every time I attempt to I get this error message:

"The specified path, file name, or both are too long. The fully qualified file name must be less than 260 characters, and the directory name must be less than 248 characters."

Afterwards, I always get the window that says "OblivionModManager has stopped working" and "Windows is checking for a solution to the problem..." with the green progress bar.

I really have no idea what this means, so I copied my crash dump file below.

1.1.12 (Safe mode)
OS version: Microsoft Windows NT 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1

Type: System.IO.PathTooLongException
Error message: The specified path, file name, or both are too long. The fully qualified file name must be less than 260 characters, and the directory name must be less than 248 characters.
Stack trace: at System.IO.Path.SafeSetStackPointerValue(Char* buffer, Int32 index, Char value)
at System.IO.Path.NormalizePathFast(String path, Boolean fullCheck)
at System.IO.Path.NormalizePath(String path, Boolean fullCheck)
at System.IO.Path.GetFullPathInternal(String path)
at System.IO.File.Move(String sourceFileName, String destFileName)
at OblivionModManager.Program.RecersiveDirectoryMove(String from, String to, Boolean overwrite)
at OblivionModManager.Program.Init()
at OblivionModManager.Program.Main(String[] args)

I've tried everything and looked everywhere and I've had absolutely no success in finding a solution. I'm starting to get pretty pissed, because I can't use mods AT ALL (I always load them via OBMM).

Anyone who can help me in any way would be highly appreciated. Thanks!
