Oblivion Modder interviews for Bethblog

Post » Fri May 21, 2010 3:34 pm

That's not a bad idea odd.bod. TES Nexus has three such especially worthy candidates from the top 10.
Note: Everyone is worthy on a basic level, these guys especially for having more than 10,000 downloads. I think if any modder has published and can boast more than 10k dls for a single mod and a large number of high ratings, then that makes them more than worthy to be in the spotlight.

Besides, these guy's mods just kick ass.

Xilver aka http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showuser=351450 for http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9562 whoops, already been interviewed

Perhaps even the Worm deserves an interview, he has been doing great services to the TES communities and is working hard on his site TheWormhole, and is even helping out the Starwars team build a site. :)

That is very nice of you to say Chris but I hardly deem myself worthy at this point. I've not yet accomplished my most basic of goals and although what I have done so far does serve the community, it isn't exactly a smashing success(only been at it 4 months). I would not except such focus until I have actually made an impact but even if that focus never comes it is of little consequence because I'm not doing any of this for fame, my reward is in the evolution and success of the community around me. When Raggidman and I successfully build and implement TES University then we'll talk, until then I'm happy toiling in the background.

Besides your much more worthy than I seeing as your modding the game and I'm just building websites. If the site I'm building helps your project to succeed then that is all I could ask for and more.

Long Live TES Community,

Thank you all for being part of something I love so much, especially you Chris for being a friend as well.

And why not Jojjo? His Frostmourne and Lich King crowns are masterpieces. He should get an interview!

Yeah, I am but like you I have yet to release anything substantial. I guess we both have a long way to go. Here's to getting there and may the journey be as fun and enlightening as the end result.

You should interview those Japanese people who make those awesome pose mods!! You know... JOJO, OSR, EFG, etc.

I wonder how one would contact them.

There is no reason why he shouldn't, he fits the criteria I described but the only reason I didn't include him is because he has already been mentioned in this thread. Gstaff is pretty sharp and will look into it on a single mention. Repeating a recommendation over and over is not going to get someone interviewed any faster, it's reliant on that person to accept, answer and return the Q&A in a timely manner. So having said that perhaps you should petition JoJJo to accept the interview and complete it swiftly, hell for all you know he has already been asked and turned it down. I hope that is not the case though because well...http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?s=&showtopic=57992&view=findpost&p=456678, as you can see I couldn't think more highly of the man.

Hear here, I recommended the incomparable Mr. Siika in the last thread and I stand by that recommendation. He kicks ass and has been doing so for quite some time.

Whoa, a long lost legend has returned!

 http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showuser=172247

Get him Gstaff, he's ripe for the picking. Should be a very interesting read to learn what he has been up to and what he thinks of how the community has evolved in his absence.

Edit: while I'm at it I'll throw Duke Patrick out there for consideration, a steadfast contributer no doubt.

Oh, and on a related side note check http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showtopic=65607 once a month to track the activity of Oblivion uploads at TES Nexus. These numbers have some pleasing indications of our strength and maturity as a THE modding community.

TES Modding...You can't stop us...You could only hope to contain us.

If you can retain consciousness without falling out of your chair while reading the interview, then I applaud you!

But really, it was fun. :coolvaultboy:

May I suggest that (if it has not already been done) one of our amateur play testers get an interview some time?

They really are unsung heroes of modding.

They get a lot of the unfun labor (not creative) work of modding and almost no credit.

They often must spend hours doing the same thing over and over.

Good play testers for mods are so very hard to find, but I have been blessed with several excellent ones on my last few projects and
they made a world of difference in the quality of my Duke Patrick combat mods.
