Oblivion mods converted to Skyrim

Post » Mon Dec 06, 2010 12:03 pm

Oblivion mods I would love to see converted are:

1. All of http://www.tesnexus.com/modules/members/index.php?id=432558 mods. The design and details on these mods are just amazing.

2. The same goes for http://www.tesnexus.com/modules/members/index.php?id=545784 work. Absolutely top quality mods.

3. I would love to see http://www.tesnexus.com/modules/members/index.php?id=8 http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=28977 in Skyrim. If not, I really hope Emma decides to make a companion mod for Skyrim. :hugs:

Without hesitation, Duke Patrick's combat mods. Nothing I've heard about the combat in Skyrim makes me believe it will be as good or tactical as Dp's mods. I'm not sure if Skyrim has MMM's variations and dynamic stat scaling but i hope it is.

now prepare for the barrage of "the game isnt even out yet and you already want to change it" rages :D

From what I've seen of the UI so far, I'm hoping DarN returns so he can work his XML magic again.

Other than that, nothing else is really screaming out to me that it needs to be in the game. Maybe a graphics extender (SGE) and some even more Hi-Res textures if the PC version doesn't look that much different from the consoles?

Until then, I'll just wait until the game comes out and see what the wonderful modding community cooks up.

You obviously haven't heard this.
Someone modded Oblivion by changing the physics of shooting an arrow. It made you shoot slower and you almost had to remain stationary to shoot, which increased the arrow's impact. We liked this mod so much, that we implemented it in Skyrim by default.

Deadly Reflex.

From what I've heard of the combat system so far (timed blocks, random finishing moves, shield bash, etc), it's already in. :spotted owl:

If there's going to be any tweaking to the combat system, I suspect it will only be minor. Unless the new system just doesn't work as well as it is said to on paper.

I want new mods, please?

Anyway, converting Oblivion mods can be more difficult than making a new one.

Tamriel Travellers FTW! Among many others. At this stage, we don't really know that much about the gameplay and what features provided by Mods in Oblivion shall be needed.

I understand. I just wanted to point, it is not out of question that devs looked to his other mods for more inspiration. ;)

You can't 'convert' them anyway. It's not like Fo3 to NV here. The games are too far apart. So this thread should say, "Oblivion mods remade for Skyrim." if anything.

I will wait to play the game first before I think about what mods I may or may not want in the game.

It's a bit hard to say just yet

But probably something like Race Balancing Project, unless they really have managed to make the races seem more unique

I'm also hoping that modders will focus on adding quests, guilds and content rather than endless uber-weapons or body enhancements

I'll just give props to Kafei's Dark Rose Armor mod.

Hopefully Skyrim won't need much modding.

Well, assuming this new engine still doesn't allow us to move in one direction but look in another, I plan to try and port my http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9499 mod. However, I'm seriously concerned becuase my mod was a hack/exploit of their camera system. With their new engine, cameras may not work the same way.

I hope Oscuro does work for it again, but I hear he has a job with a game developer now (may have been Take Two, but correct me if I'm wrong.), so I doubt he'll have the time anymore.
