Oblivion, no more!

Post » Thu Sep 29, 2011 8:49 am

Nope. The idea of having to sit down and install the game and ALL the various mods that coax it into a playable form for me to actually enjoy sounds like more than a task I am willing to undertake. There are some games that I will go back and play before a sequel release, but Oblivion taught me that is not always a good thing to do. Too easy to compare it to the last one then.

That's definitely the feeling I'm looking forward to most with Skyrim, Jimpster - walking out of the cave for the first time and thinking 'Right. [censored]. What do I do? Oh, a flower!"

I started two new characters in Oblivion while I'm waiting for Skyrim. I'm enjoying them so much I may even postpone beginning Skyrim.

Download Daggerfall. I'm pretty sure that it's freeware now.

I feel the same, I just can't play oblivion even though I have a computer (finally!) that can run it with better graphics than PS3, new quests, new weapons and new enemies. Even with a leveling overhaul mod it just feels bleh.

I agree. It is hard to play. Feels almost as bad as all the Bioware games I've played in the last few years.

Dark Souls! lol

I can't wait for this. I'm guessing it'll probably be a better game that Skyrim. Everything just seems so perfectly crafted in Demon's Souls, and Dark Souls looks to be a good upgrade. I'll still end up spending more time playing Skyrim.

LOL, that was purely coincidental, but I see what you mean

keep in mind that alot of amazing hype-building things were said about oblivion that turned out to be untrue or much less than expected; they touted the same radiant AI with OB that they are with skyrim you know...

if you havent already, look up the 100% chameleon exploit (you can do it on the console version just fine) and just play through the game; its certainly amusing for a awhile to smack someone in the face with a sword and watch them run in terror because they cant ever see you. i think guards will still magically find you to deliver the CRIMINAL SCUM line, but if you resist they get ready to fight and then just run around because they can't see you either :disguise:

as for me, i installed a bunch of quest mods that i was too lazy to ever deal with the conflicts of...but now i have nothing but free time and am enjoying some truly superb time wasting!

I will gladly reinstall both Morrowind and Oblivion, finishing both of them in vanilla mode first and then modding them as much as my nuclear pc allows.I adore both and I will make a short gaming scheduled window for them when Skyrim arrives home, so I get the full TES

experience.I have never found my self being dragged through a game, gamer experience and scope of approach define how fresh each gaming life will be.

Cheers,

I have installed like 100 mods on oblivion even the one that you go to Vardenfell Elsweyr also Black marsh Hammerfell and SKYRIM :disguise: so i have some fun but to tell the truth it gets ridiculous after a while, so i guess Skyrim just raised my standards and i can't enjoy it as i did before. I think i will start playing Fallout NV lonesome road is out so i might give it a try :celebration:
