Oblivion Music vs Morrowind Music

Post » Tue Sep 14, 2010 10:54 pm

Morrowind's theme > oblivion's theme
Oblivion's atmospheric music > Morrowind's atmospheric music
Morrowind's dungeon music > Oblivion's

That's how I see it.

Morrowind 100% i loved the music in morrowind so much more than i did in Oblivion. Especially the theme tune. Oblivions theme is a lot more imperial proud battle type music stuff. Whereas Morrowinds was a lot more calmer and mysterious, which i preffer tbh.

However it may just be that i preffered morrowind so much more than oblivion, I mean don't get me wrong Oblivion was good but morrowind, everything but the graphics were better IMHO.

Well If you have the games for the pc, then you can change the soundtrack yourself If you have itunes, thats what I do, but I also have Morrowind for Xbox, and Oblivion for PS3, and the music in TES4 gets too annoying.

Oblivion always gets me sort of energized, although there is something special about the Morrowind theme song. It always makes me feel adventurous and daring somehow. I guess it's more epic and unique. To me, it kind of summarizes everything that Morrowind is, which is not only fighting but a lot of lore and atmoshpere as opposed to Oblivion, where focus was centered at the action which can be heard in it's theme song as well. Therefore Morrowind theme song will always be nr 1 while Oblivion and Morrowind gameplay music are quite tied.

What I'd like to hear in tes v is a Morrowind like theme song that incorporates the atmosphere of every part of tes and a more diverse gameplay music that differs depending on where you are and in what environment you are in. For example, if you're in a vampire infested, mud-filled cave then I want some scary music. But if I'm in an Ayleid ruin I don't want the same song, which is what happens in Oblivion. Then I want a strange song, as strange and mysterious as the ruins I'm exploring.

Morrowind's theme > oblivion's theme
Oblivion's atmospheric music > Morrowind's atmospheric music
Morrowind's dungeon music > Oblivion's

That's how I see it.

Morrowind doesn't have dungeon music.

I think Oblivion's music is better overall, though I do prefer Morrowind's theme more.
