Oblivion: Path of the Assassin

Lucien smiled.
"Good."

"Go to Bravil. There, in the slums, you will find a skooma house. Inside is the unfortunate soul, M'rak D'raza. Kill him, without being seen by the others. Take this dagger," said Lucien, handing the Imperial a ceremonial ebony dagger.
"-and use it to slay him. With each kill this blade grows stronger, I promise you that. Do this, and you will be an Initiate for the dark brotherhood, a recruit, of sorts. Then, the next time you sleep, I will visit you, and give you your orders for the rogue Speaker in the west. Slaying him will officialy make you a Murderer in the Brotherhood. Now go, Bravil is a while from here. Do not waste any time. And do NOT operate in the daylight. Goodbye, Imperial," finished Lucien in his sinister drawl of a voice, and disappearing altogether.

He made the Bridge just as the western sky was starting to brighten, and he watched the activity already in full swing at the long structure, as merchants with wagons full of goods went past the armed guards who stood at the entrance of the city, spears glinting in the sunlight. It was not a pretty sight for Halion, and he knew Invisibility would not be enough, a there was too much activity on the Bridge. If he bumped into somebody and was discovered after his apparent "death" the result would not work out in his favor.

He opened the tome in his bag, and turned the page to a bookmarked section, flipping a few more pages till he found the appropriate spells. He raised his left hand, and rested it on his head, and began chanting, thinking of a deep auburn color, and finished the chant with a tingling feel in his fingers. He pulled his ponytail around, and saw his black hair was now an auburn color, as he release the string holding his hair back to let it hang about his shoulders.

He flipped the page once, and began chanting again, waving his finger around his eyes, and he felt the same tingling in his fingers as the spell finished. He could not see it, but he was sure his eye color had gone from light blue, to a deep green, and had lost some of its glint. Satisfied with the changes, he removed his robes, and walked out of the bushes with his enchanted tunic, and the pair of wool pants he wore underneath, as he slung the bag over his shoulder. With one last touch, he cast a spell of Chameleon on his bag, concealing it expertly and for a long duration.

He approached the guards at the Bridge, and gave them a warm, innocent smile as they observed him, one of them holding up their hand for the Altmer to stop. He wore a bored, rather disgruntled look, and had bags under his eyes, as the man was clearly tired from his shift.

"Name and business for leaving the City?" he asked wearily, checking Halion over once with his eyes.

"Maelin. Leaving for a trip to my uncle in Weye." he said easily, as he raised his finger slightly, and released a spell under his breath as the man looked across the Lake to the small town. "He is not well, and I have to help him with his fishing business." he added, though Charm spell had done it's job, and the man just waved Halion through, a smile on his face now towards the Altmer.

"Have a good trip sir." he replied, and Halion had to hold in a grin as the fellow guard looked at his friend incredulously, surprised at the change in demeanor.

"And you too." Halion said back to the guard, as he set out across the Bridge, glad for his power of Illusion, as only a few feet away, a group of tired looking Mages Guild members were asking some guards a few questions. Halion decided not to push his luck, and hurried down the Bridge, letting the Chameleon spell on his bag drop, as well as letting his eye color go back, but not wanting his hair to change at the moment. Too obvious. he thought, as he made it to the halfway point of the Bridge, the day now lightening even more, the western sky tipped with orange, and a smile on the Altmer's face.

Caelas gathered the supplies he needed and headed out the door, locking it just incase he should ever need to return. He got out of the city without the guards giving him any trouble and made it half-way to Bravil traveling by the Green Road. He camped for the night and the next morning without any bandits stopping him, he continued on his way to Bravil, wich he reached at about dusk.

"What is your reason for coming to Bravil?" the guard said as Caelas approached.
"I want to sell some goods, I'm a traveling merchant." Caelas replied pointing to his pack.
"I've never seen you before." the other guard said.
"I'm new to the business just learned from my father."
"Alright you can pass but if you cause any trouble we'll have you arrested."
Caelas slipped past the guards and found his way to the Silver Home on The Water Inn and made a reservation. He thought about seeing his uncle, as he lived here but decided it was best to not.

Caelas gathered information from the homeless and from some local civilians for two days straight. He had found out that M'rak D'raza was a Male Khajiit skooma addict with a pretty heavy build. This just might be too easy. He found out that almost everyday the Khajiit entered the mysterious hangout which some of the people he asked called the "Skooma Den". This must be what the man was talking about. Hmm I forgot to ask that man his name. Maybe next time.

The first night he climbed up onto a rooftop near the Skooma Den for a good view. Sure enough after a few hours he saw a male Khajiit with a heavy build knock on the door of the Skooma Den. After a few seconds another Khajiit answered the door and let him in. I'll strike tomorrow night.

He decided on his plan and the next night he set it into action. I'll climb on the roof of this "Skooma Den" and strike him with the blade that man gave me. He regretted that he couldn't use the bow to pick him off at a distance but didn't mind as he was also skilled with a blade. He climbed onto the roof just above the door into the Skooma Den and waited for the Khajiit to arrive while laying flat on his stomach. An hour or so later near midnight the Khajiit approached. He looked miserable up close with furry bags under his eyes and a big belly. Right before the man knocked on the door Caelas jumped down as lightly as possible and brought the khajiit onto the ground. Sitting on his chest he pushed the virgin blade into the man's neck and slid it across while muffling the man's screams. Just like last time the killing filled him with an undescribable feeling and adrenaline. He almost let out a smile and started to drag the man's body as the door into the Skooma Den opened. He dropped the body as a nord stuck his head out the doorway.
"Who goes there?"
"It's me." Caelas replied as he stepped in front of the doorway.
"Who is me?" the man demanded with a smile almost as if he found the situation amusing.
"Is Jak there?" Caelas asked.
"No no no no no, heh heh no Jak here."
"Oh I must have the wrong house then" The man slammed the door and Caelas returned to dragging the body. He dragged it down the outside stairs and laid in the fenced in backyard of another home. No one will probably won't find this for a few more days. He rinsed the blood off of him in a nearby outdoor well careful to stick to the shadows. After that he returned through the window into his inn room and slept soundly this time unlike the last time he had comitted murder. There he waited for the man in the dark robes to return.

OOC: My time jump was authorized by Bebop. :)

IC:

Several Hours past dawn now, in between Imperial City and Skingrad somewhere.

Halion bounced up and down uncomfortably on the horses back, as it trotted down the well kept road to Skingrad, leaving the town of Weye, and a no doubt, angry barkeeper far behind him. Halion raised his buttocks from the saddle, as it throbbed from the constant bouncing of the ride, though his legs soon grew tired from holding himself up in that position, and he dropped back down to his seat, ignoring the ache coming from his backside.

The morning was clear and crisp, and Halion's hair had reverted back to its normal black, and he had put his robes back on to stave off the slight chill in the air. The road had been rather empty, except for the occasional Legionnaire he had past by, all of them looking disgruntled and bored. He had never seen the roads so safe, as usually goblins or bandits took to the areas, preying off lonely travelers and merchants. He had started to slip into a shallow sleep, his head bobbing up every few seconds, as he was only half aware of his surroundings.

His head throbbed with exhaustion and the heavy use of magick in the last hour, and he probably would've fallen asleep on his horse if the seat wasn't so damn uncomfortable. He thought of using a spell from his considerable group of Alteration spells, perhaps to alter how hard the saddle was, but the mere thought of a spell exhausted him and wearied him. He hoped he would be able to find somewhere to rest before he had to search for the fort, though he was sure he could find a suitable place to hunker down in, if he couldn't find an inn, which he was certain he wouldn't be able to.

He just kept on riding, nodding into semi-unconsciousness from pure exhaustion, his head snapping up every couple of seconds as he imagined sounds in the bushes all around him.

Edit: (in regards to below) Well isn't that a kick in the nuts.... Ah well.

I regret to inform you all, that this topic will soon be locked. It has been a challenge to visit you all while maintaining realistic time and what not. Lucien can't be in two places afterall ;)

But, the good news is, I will be making a new RP here in TES fanfiction soon, one based around either vampires or witchhunters. Either way, it will be far more diverse. I will be choosing one or two who have participated in this thread to help me create the new one. Feel free to PM me if you would like to be one. Thank you. Goodnight.

OOC: I'm pretty sure that my task is going to involve helping you, blademaster, by the way BebopMagnum has been wording it. Just a thought, maybe something could happen to delay you until I get to the scene. Unless you get a message or something saying to wait for me.

Oh yeah and I think you're supposed to get the info out of the guy and I kill him?
