Oblivion performance mods

Post » Tue Dec 13, 2011 9:02 am

okay i downloaded and extracted the oblivion stutter remover mod and the oblivion steamline mod. The only one that showed up in my data files in the oblivion application was the streamline mod, can someone help me.

Here is what I did when I installed and extracted-

I first downloaded the file then on google chrome I opened the mod in its file, I then extracted the file and clicked on the file that was created. I then practically took all of the files componentes and moved them into the oblivion data directory. but the stutter remover doesnt show up in the oblivion data files in the application of oblivion.

Oblivion Stutter Remover is an OBSE plugin. You will find it in Oblivion/Data/obse/plugins

Are you asking how to install OBSE itself or how to install OBSE plugins?

This is from OBSE's readme
1. Copy obse_1_2_416.dll, obse_editor_1_2.dll, and obse_loader.exe to your Oblivion directory. This is usually in your Program Files folder, and should contain files called "Oblivion.exe" and "OblivionLauncher.exe".
2. Run oblivion by running obse_loader.exe from the Oblivion directory.

OBSE plugins like Oblivion Stutter Remover have to go in Data/obse/plugins.

Did you read the readme? Or even the quote of the readme I posted?

edit: If you are using the steam version copy obse_steam_loader.dll instead of obse_loader.exe

Yes i did and now when I click on the obse loader it launches oblivion.

to turn on my mods do i just open the oblivion application first, turn them on, press exit, then open it up using OBSE?

and when I go, Oblivion/data/OBSE, there is no OBSE file to put plugins in.

You should really use a mod manager such as OBMM or Wrye Bash to activate and deactivate your mods.

You can just make the folder yourself. If you extract OSR into your oblivion directory it will make it for you.

I'm not sure what 'OBSE file' you mean or what went to shaders. Oblivion Stutter Remover comes with

sr_Oblivion_Stutter_Remover.dll
sr_Oblivion_Stutter_Remover.ini
sr_Oblivion_Stutter_Remover.txt
and a ComponentDLLs folder

These all need to go in Oblivion/obse/plugins

Edit: You don't have to activate anything for OBSE plugins to work
