Oblivion Quest Mod

Background

At the moment this is a W.I.P mod, where i'm seeing if there's any interest behind this mod and to collect people's ideas instead of just using my own.

After many hours/days/months of playing Oblivion, i've finally run out of quests to do, and i'm not talking about main quests. I'm talking about long side quests (the Shrines) or interesting but short ones (Hackdirt). This is where this mod comes in.

I'm aiming to create a large number of Unmarked, Short, Medium and Long quests all over Cyrodiil so the Player has new quests to complete

However, these quests will be challenging as there will be no Map Marker - instead, like Morrowind, there will be a detailed Quest Log telling you where to go so you have to get involved with the quest!

The Quests i was thinking of creating will vary from new ones with new characters to quests about existing characters (A certain Dark Elf in Skingraad for instance, and exposing her for the weirdo she is (Perhaps a quest from her Rumour which will lead you to a dead corpse in the Basemant) - that sort of thing :))

I'm not talking about any boring Kill A and return quests, of course there will be a little of those, but im trying to get the Player more involved into peoples lives, and so when they find out something interesting about a character, there will be a quest (short/medium/long) to find out more and perhaps discover a larger story.

This mod will not add or focus on a very long chain of quests, just a lot of single ones dotted everywhere - i have no aim or target of which the number of quests will be created (but they will be in the 100's,

however thats where I want you to come in. Give me ideas, tell me about unique NPC's who really have no story but are interesting and perhaps i'll add them on the list, or any other quest ideas you have and you may find them in there as well (I'll have a long list of credits)!

Note

Please give feedback on what you think - this will be a massive project, and i'd like the communitys verdict on the idea - or perhaps you think it's a good idea but should be changed a litte - or maybe you just want your quest idea put in! Thanks :D!

You should check out Kragenir's Death Quest. It adds 150+ quests just like what you're talking about - it builds off rumors and stubs the devs put in the game but never developed.

Lol, you're very stubborn and persistent, aren't you?

Kragenir's Death is nice and fun mod, but what stops you to make your mod. It won't be same as KD. For example, you could do it as an addon for Elsweyr Anequina, it could always use some quests.

I don't know if it's a good idea or not. There are already mods that do something like what you're talking about--http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1188630-relz-kragenirs-death-quest-21-thread-11/ and http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1184421-relz-integration-the-stranded-light/ come first to mind, I hope you're aware of them. That doesn't mean there's not room for another, or an alternative, but...well, between those, and more focused quest mods like Hoarfrost Castle, Kvatch Rebuilt, AFK_Weye, Arthmoor's villages, Verona House, etc., my Cyrodil is already pretty darn stuffed with quests, and there are big ones like the Sancre Tor mod soon forthcoming.

On the other hand, there are some definite areas of opportunity, depending on what your interests are and whether you prefer working alone or in a team. Most of the guilds could really use some continuing quests after you finish the vanilla chain, for example. And there are mods like Better Cities that add a bunch of bland NPCs, and also a Ranger's Guild, that could use some quests; also landmass mods like Elsweyr (edit: Ninja'd!) and Valenwood Improved, that could use added quests.

And hey, if you're a Morrowind fan, I saw that the Tamriel Rebuilt team had specifically put out a call for quest writers a few weeks ago.

I should also mention that there's a relative dearth of quest mods that take place in the Shivering Isles--Integration adds some there, but I can't think of many others. So that's another area of opportunity, a relatively blank canvas.

Perhaps i'll focus on Shivering Isle quests and add some Oblivion ones too?
