Oblivion Quiz Thread #24

Orinthal it is; here's your lovely little terrapin. :turtle:

I'll take that and ask the next question, which is gameplay related (Oblivion, not SI )

I'm feeling sick. The last thing I did was take a swim in a lake, now nobody likes me. What disease could I be referring to?

For bonus points, how would I have caught this illness?

Haha, I was actually looking at the wiki page on diseases earlier. It's Greenspore, from slaughterfish.

And guess what else you can find in the lakes? These things -> :turtle:

Good work! Between the two of us, we could play this game for ages!

Okay, a question about... Stuff.

This item is named after a type of NPC, but you will never actually find any of said NPCs in possession of the item. What is it?

The best I have got is the item is a "Tong" and the NPC is a Camonna Tong Thug.

Yup. There's actually 2 of them that I know of, and they're both the same type of item.

Hint: You can equip it.

Edit: "Tong" in the Dunmer tongue probably refers to organized criminal gangs, ie. Cammona Tong, Morag Tong, but tongs aren't specifically named after that. ;)

And it's not the Cammona Tong Thug / Tong?

This could be anything....my last guess is "Imperial Legion Seal", but I have no idea, really, what this is. Maybe someone else will come along and solve it. :(

I don't think you can equip tongs ;)

Another hint: Members of a "tong" are pretty much always Dunmer; but one of the types of NPC in question are always Khajiit.

Bummer.

I'll drop one more hint. The other type of NPC is almost always an Imperial, but also might be a Nord, an Argonian, or a Khajiit. None of them are Breton, Redguard, or Mer/Orsimer.

I feel inclined to say Black Bows, named after the Black Bow Bandits, but if I remember correctly, they all carry black bows.
I'm also tempted to say the Akaviri Katana, but the races you mentioned do not line up with the blades
hhmmmmmm :spotted owl:

wait... the only type of NPC that is always Khajiit is the highwayman I believe... AND THERE IS A HIGHWAYMAN'S SHIRT IN THE CHORROL FIGHTERS GUILD!!!!!!! :D :D :D I just got so excited I feel like Sherlock Holmes if this is wrong then I am going to cry

You got it, TheNord, it's the Highwayman's shirt. Or alternatively, the Beggar's shirt would also have been a correct answer.

In any case, you have mantled your way to Turtle-Bearership. Good work. :turtle:

Gweden Farm (house).

Shouldn't ask such questions in the presence of a weightless clothing afficionado!

:turtle: I love all the random items that can be found in that basemant!

I guess the wording was somewhat misleading because I misused "unique". The clothing is not enchanted, so it is not unique by that definition. What I meant is that it is one-of-a-kind in the sense that it has a unique name and I think some of the stuff has a unique look.

Where can you find an unusually large skull? (a humanoid skull; not a shambles skull or what-not).

Edit: I need to put my sorry butt to bed and get some sleep; the answer to the question is http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Fort_Redman

The :turtle: is up for grabs. Have fun.

In an alternate universe, I believed I was one of the Ogres. Who am I?

I'm going to pop off now, but I'm not going to give this up. However, if anyone gets it right overnight, and someone else can confirm it - go ahead and take the turtle.

It is obvious that Nil stumped us all with a great question so I'll throw a question out so the game can continue.....

The Dark Brotherhood has a "mascot" who's name is.........?

I though maybe Malacath was the answer to his question, but wasn't sure...

Anyway, the DB mascot is Schemer the rat, yes?
