Oblivion Quiz Thread #25

Wait, why is Tyrone Rugen being accepted? There's no one in TES by that name. That's a character in The Princess Bride. :P And if UESP had it listed as otherwise, it's been removed by now.

Perhaps the Roxey Inn? Though those inhabitants aren't quite adventurers.

Yeah Yeah Smart Pants.. Here's your :turtle:

Who is responsible for driving the cliffracers from Vvardenfell? (This IS an Oblivion question. :P)

Oh, huh. Well, things that require the construction set don't count. :P

Pre-patch, shoot him with the Wabbajack and then take a swing.

I think Damage Fatigue kills him post-patch.

One inhabitant of the Shivering Isles apparently has no qualms about being tortured by Syl, and actually claims to enjoy the thought of it (despite having the same reaction as everyone else when tortured by Herdir.) Who is this person?

Nope. But it's been long enough and I'm getting off for the night, so I'll toss the :turtle: in the air for anyone to catch and reveal the answer:

Spoiler
It's Cutter!

hmmmm, I actually don't think I've ever used Cutter in that quest, but her response is quite fitting. And since the :turtle: is in the air:
Name ten locations other than the the planes of oblivion that the player can be teleported to (more than ten is extra credit, there are at least 17)
*The planes of oblivion that you reach through the various "generic" gates (including the great gates) don't count because there are multiple "worlds" and I didn't want to get into that. Getting to planes of Oblivion through more... unique methods... does count however

Ohhh... lets see if I can remember
Painted Forest
Boethias Arena (sp)
The Shivering Isles
Peryite's Daedric Realm
Aetherius or the above Cyrodiil world in the Knights of the Nine (does that count?)
You go through a portal to the Mages Guild Tower and Lobby, does that count?
Henantier's Dreamworld
Fort Grief
Malacath's Shrine.

I don't know if half of those count, especially the Mages Guild tower, Fort Grief and Malacath's shrine.

That's only 9, so I'm going to tack on Boethia's Daedric realm (everyone forgets the Tournament of Ten Bloods! But it was so cool!) and pretend it was still part of your answer. :P

You go through a portal to the Mages Guild Tower and Lobby, does that count?

If they do, then this is three levels - Lobby, Council Chamber and Archmage's Quarters, all of which are teleport destinations, bit only two of those are only accessed through a teleport.

It can be argued that the return trip from most of the places mentioned would count. But how many of them are "Tamriel"? Several locations in SI have teleport shortcuts back to locations you already walked to (or could, e.g. in Xedilian).

And just how did I get into this prison in the first place?

Here I go,
1. Anvil Mages Guild-from Frostcraig Spire
2. Skingrad Mages Guild - """
3. Chorrol Mages Guild - """
4. Bruma Mages Guild - """
5. Cheydinhall Mages Guild - """
6. Bravil Mages Guild - """
7. Leyawiin Mages Guild - """
8. Arcane University - """
9. Mankar Camorans Paradise <---May not count?
10. Peryites Realm
11. Boethias Tournament Realm
12. Shivering Isles<---- Pushes the total Number of possible locations to around twenty five or more.
13. Arkveds Dreamworld in the Vaermina Daedric Quest.
14. Hennatiers Dreamworld
15. Molag Bals Realm <---- may not count, since the ressurection just ends up with the character back at Bals shrine?
16. KOTN Leyawiin Quest
17. KOTN Main Quest ending, may count twice, or even three times?
18 Teleportation inside the Archmages Tower and inside FrostCrag itself could be counted as an extra five or more teleports.

The Painted Forest is accessed by Teleportation, and I forgot to add it to my list :whistling:, but it does count :trophy: if I am understanding the question correctly?

Wow I overlooked a lot of things, and I didn't mean for teleportation pads to be included

I'm giving the :turtle: to bradleyh...
Ni!: you only named 9
Velorien: I'm not sure if you were going for the turtle or just helping out NI!, but since Vaermina was wrong, it was still only 9

Therefore bradleyh has the only correct answer, thus earning the :turtle: and 4 :icecream: for getting 14 total correct answers (the pads don't count, I don't consider Arkved's dreamworld teleportation (but I could be wrong), and for the Leyawiin KotN quest and Through a Nightmare Darkly you don't actually teleport because your body stays behind)

I don't think it has a name or anything, but there's a shipwreck all the way to the west at the end of a peninsula pointing north to Hammerfell at the Abecean Sea. There's a Nirnroot there.
