Every year I do a 12 days of Christmas countdown with a new Christmas themed house mod every day, for our http://www.oblivionsrealestate.com/Find_A_Home/find_a_home.html users to enjoy.

A new mod is added each day to the front page of ORE with a walkthrough video. A nice way to countdown to Christmas. We had some really lovely mods last year and I am hoping this year will be the same.

So this year I thought I had better start early. So I am asking if anyone would like to join in on the fun and create a christmas themed house mod to be show cased on Oblivion's Real Estate. We 'obviously' need 12 brand new house mods and it would be nice to have other modder's houses, not just 12 houses made by me. :laugh: If you would like to participate please let me know here. There are some particulars we would like to have this year...

1) We really need the house to be companion friendly, at this point in Oblivion this is pretty necessary for house mods given the many excellent companion mods available.

2) The mod must be hosted on ORE during the 12 day period, after Christmas you can upload to where ever you want.

3) If you can make a walkthrough video to go with your house that would really save me a lot of time. This is not a necessity, just a bonus if you can.


So if you would like to contribute and have a house faeatured on ORE for our countdown please let me know below. The more the merrier.

This is such a nice tradition, Meek.

I for one will head over to ORE on a daily basis and look for the latest Christmas present - it's as fun as opening the gifts on Christmas Eve (we celebrate on Christmas Eve in Sweden).

And good catch with the need of companionfriendly houses - there are so many wonderful, lovely beautiful houses created over the years that I have had to pathgrid for my personal usage, in order to cater for the needs of my companions.

I'm not sure if I will be able to contribute with any house this year, as we are in the end-stage of testing Vilja ver 3, but if I get the chance, I certainly will give it a try.

I'll see if I can't toss something together again this year. :foodndrink: Any excuse to decorate for Xmas and you know I'm all over it. :lmao:

Could someone define what does 'companion friendly' exactly imply? I think it was having persistent reference beds and chairs, right? Anything else?

Ah yes I had to message the author of the Snowman mod on Nexus last year and get permission to use it in our Happy Holidays mod.

Companion friendly means persistent ref furniture, making sure the pathing is navigable for NPC's and wont knock things off tables and shelves as they go past. an extra bed for companions or simply using double bed, that sort of thing.

The reason I am specifically asking for companion friendly houses is because houses on ORE that are proven companion friendly will have a new icon beside the name to let the downloader know it is safe for their companion.

Well, I've already started a Christmas mod, so it would be nice for it to be involved here, I just hope it's up to scratch If you have places, sign me up!

Not really, I just haven't edited those new permission boxes. At the same time every year the requests pour in and all I ask for is a link to the mod once it's released. I've started adding in links to those mods on my download page.
Which reminds me, WhoGuru I think you may've sent a link to the mod you were using Frosty in last year. I can't find your PM, could you let me know the link again, please? I've only so far got the link to Apachii's mod. I know there are more. I'll (hopefully) add more links this year.

So many people contributing, I have had numerous pm's as well, it is wonderful! If we end up with more then 12 mods then I could either start earlier or put more then one mod on a day. Although it is nice for each mod to have it's exclusive day, especially as The 12 Mods of Christmas is a busy time on ORE, rivaled only by ORE Challenge results.
