Oblivion realm best items

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 2:06 pm

Just finally on a mission to complete MQ, didn't want to close every single gate, was wondering of the top of your heads what's the must have items?
I currently have the amazing bow hatred soul and hatred heart. Is there any others in the oblivion world I should keep an eye out for before I miss out altogether? Cheers guys.

You may not be missing out on much else. There's some Dremora stuff that you might miss, but it's just basically lower grade daedric with the same weight. A lot of Dremora claymores wielded by them have unique enchantments you might not see much of anywhere else, like paralyze and damage strength, but most of those dremora enchantments are lower end and don't have very many uses before they need to be recharged.

Edit: or at least I never really found much useful stuff on my play throughs.

Have a look yourself though at the list and see if there is any random loot that you might want.

Thanks schmoe, yeah I did have a little peek just wanted to ask everyone else before I finished the MQ and all gates shut. I did actually find a paralyse claymore but I sold it.
What I want the most is a daedric longsword! Have some good sigil stones ( absorb health 25 on strike ) but just cannot for the life of me find one! Those dremora are always carrying 2 hand weapons.

Daedric Longswords can be hard to find. I think my character found his in the hands of bandits and in random loot in caves and the like

I almost always find a plethora of daedric, both long and short (I like the short ones) in vampire lairs, as long as you are at the appropriate level. The best loot in the Oblivion Gates are the sigil stones imo. Though once I found a dremora mace with Paralyze and an insanely long weakness to fire enchantment.

If you plan on enchanting some of your weapons with the special stuff from the Sigil Stones, you will be missing out if you complete the main quest.

Try marauder dungeons. They should have perhaps best odds to get daedric longsword from random loot. One downside though may be that they are harder to find not already enchanted.

AFAIK, bandits usually carry blunt weapons in the regular game.

Funny after reading your replies I did a quest for the FG involving the Blackwood company and ran into 2 daedric longswords straight away! After enchanting it with the absorb health it's actually not that great as the cost of recharging is very high! 3950 I think, so needs 3 grand gems every time i recharge it. Only 40 uses too.
On the other hand I have a daedric longsword that I found, no actually I have 2, one with 20 fire and the other with 20 ice damage and cost of recharging is 1600! For 44 uses. So I only need 1 gem a go or 1 azuras star.

The gate out of chorrol has two items, a bow and a mace that are worth getting. You can find this gate at random in other gate locations, but it's always the Chorrol gate. check out the wiki for directions on how to find. What are they called? Darn my poor memory, something like Hatreds Heart. The bow has the most base damage in the game if you use the arrows included. I use the copy glitch and make more arrows. I believe you have to be level 25 to get the best versions, but check on wiki. They list every gate type and by looking up Chorrols you'll see the items I'm describing.

the normal way I check at random gates is to first look for a leaning tower. That in itself is not enough because there's a gate area that also has a leaning tower and is another kind entirely. This tower has to be surrounded by lava. There are islands and a downed gate lying in the lava. You get over there using a walk on water spell or echantment, or by taking a flying leap. You can also island hop to the correct island. On th far side of the small island is a door out of sight from on top. You must go to the lava's edge and you will spot it. Kill the two key holders and use the keys to get to the bow and the mace. There's another prize located in a hole surrounded by lava in this area but I've never been able to access it.

Yup, what Old Grog said...

Best Item: Hatred's Soul (Bow) and Hatred's Heart (Mace). I used to save before entering OB gates, just so I can find the right one. These weapons are hidden in a special OB gate. The cave is called "The Fume Vaults" it was one of the best kept secrets when Oblivion first came out!

I didn't find out until years later, when my son and I started reading up on the game. We did what we think is best; play the game cold and learn it. We only used the various sites when trouble stumped us. All in all, we've had hundreds and thousands of hours of fun with Oblivion because we didn't run to the info sites right away.

Every once in awhile,Oblivion still shows me something new. It truly is a great game, a gem far better than is currently realized.

Three persons, one mind :)
Actually in my case I didn′t even know these sites existed and thank [insert deity here] for that! I would never have come here if it wasn′t to solve the stupid A-bomb
