(Quote) As TES's main competitor in the hardcoe RPG genre, I really hope this out does fable. Oblivion was completely eclipsed by Fable 2's greatness, I would like to see TES conquer once again, what do you guys think? (Quote)

Ok, Ok, Ok. I really want to know where you got this? For one it doesn't even make sense. For two if you take orginal base reviews on both games does Oblivion not come out at a higher rating then Fable 2? Plus how can people even compare the two games? There are some very big differences between TES & Fable. You can't really compare them next to each other.

Where the hell did you quote this from? Oblivion is Muhammed Ali, who is punching fable 2, a fat kid eating a pie.

Fable 2 was released two years after Oblivion, and Oblivion received overall better ratings and better sales. I don't really see how Fable 2 "eclipsed" Oblivion at all.

I'm not saying anything bad about their opinion. Although I do wish that if people are going to 'Quote' reviews/articles/people that they would quote them correctly. The 'Quote' doesn't actually make sense to me for the main following reason.

"As TES's main competitor in the hardcoe RPG genre" - This implies to me that you are talking about an game that is not part of the Elder Scrolls series of games. Yet this is followed by " I really hope this out does fable" - Implying that they hope it is better then Fable. When you put them together it implies to me that you are talking about a game that is neither Fable or from the Elder Scrolls. Prehaps the OP may have a typo or two in the orginal statement I cannot know, but to me this is impling that there is infact part of the quote missing from between these two lines.

Do you know how many who got disappointed by both Fable II and Fable III? They removed armors and replaced bows and crossbows with guns and rifles! I don't like Fable anymore.

Fable 2 could never shadow Oblivion, in about 38-40 hours of gameplay, I got every achievement for Fable 2, and did just about every thing in the game, every demon door, legendary weapon and others.
I still haven't finished the Fighter and Mages guild, nor have I touched the MQ for Oblivion.

imo, OB>F2 For Lyffee.

Oblivion and Fable are in two completely different leagues. Fable is one of those games that it is impossible for me to take seriously Fable was never better than The Elder Scrolls, it was the brainchild of someone who wanted to do just as much as Bethesda but does not have the same amount of talent that allows Bethesda to get away with what they do. Peter Molyneux is a man who, to paraphrase Yahtzee: "has an annoying tendency to promise the world and then fall flat on his face trying to deliver it." Almost half the content in the original Fable got cut, so much that Lionhead actually re-released the entire game with some of the promised features that got cut shoehorned back in.

The main problem with Fable, though, is that it is impossible to take the game seriously when it clearly wants to be. Fable and Oblivion may share a lot of technical faults, but Oblivion simply does a much better job of keeping you in the game. Oh, and Fable will never be able to have as much replay value as Oblivion. This is something that so many modern game designers still struggle with all the time. Bethesda designs its games to keep you playing them for the longest possible time, whereas the rest of the industry designs them to entertain you just long enough to make you want to purchase the next title full-price expansion pack they put out in in the next year.

I've played both. They really have nothing in common. Do I like Fable 2? Yes. But two totally different kind of games. I dont even see how one can compare to the other.

It's like comparing Dragon Age to Oblivion. Just doesn't work.
