Oh wow! I find the environments are not THAT big of a difference, but the improvement of character models and buildings is staggering.

There is some solid graphical improvement to be sure, but there should be. Oblivion is almost 5 years old, and wasn't a very good looking game for its time. However, the graphics are not "amazing" or "jaw dropping" by any stretch of the imagination.

With that said graphics don't do anything for me. The game looks fun and seems like its going to have a great atmosphere... which is far more important.

considering the scope of the game, it's pretty jaw dropping.

Those who say the graphics aren't a vast improvement are blind or trolling, because the graphics are a vast improvement over Oblivion. It looks amazing.

It's looks better than Oblivion, but saying this is like saying the sky is blue.

It is obvious that it won't look this pretty on actual gameplay, trailers tend to pretty things up. But I'm pretty sure I'll need a system upgrade to actually play it on PC with stable FPS.

I imagine it will look better on PC.

Edit: Not saying they look bad at all though, just responding to people saying it's only a minor upgrade and such.

I guess when I say "Looks better, but not mind blowing" I'm looking at it from modded oblivion on a PC. So, I guess from medium/low settings on PC that looks pretty great.

This. So far looks awesome, besides things like animations (for example) make a game a lot prettier (or uglier) than it might actually be although doesn't really affect graphics.

Not to mention, Oblivion is a finished product, and Skyrim is still in production. What people forget or are simply ignorant about, is that in order for game development to continue, the usually have to rough things in, and usually right up until the final months of development the game is still going to be full of placeholders. This includes textures, models, and effects, all the stuff your typical negative nancys like to complain about.

Everything looks a whole lot better in those comparisons...
Except for... http://gamestage.com.br/temp/forest.jpg
That doesn't look very good if I have to be 100% honest.
The waterfalls don't look either in Skyrim.

Other than that, amazing game, amazing graphics. Just. Amazing :D

Distant land, character models, shadows and particle effects seem to have been vastly improved.
I'm definitely happy with the new graphics, I never expected anything amazing, just bringing Oblivions graphics up to date.

Who cares about the graphics? The world feels more alive and that's what is important to me.

Oblivion blew my mind completely, if Skyrim is any better (which it will be) I'll be crying tears of joy and mentally marrying bethesda softworks. :hubbahubba:

The forest is the only one where I found no drastic improvements. Character models, as everyone agrees on, look much, much better than Oblivion. Overall, I hope they touch up a few areas (animations, texture res, running water) and spend the rest of the time developing the world.

I′m pretty sure its from the game! It′s just like other screenshots released in GI, and look at the shadows (not so high resolution) and the inner mounth... I′m 99% sure that its a rendered in-game image.

I compared THAT forest cuz it was the most compatible forest with that one from oblivion... But if you watch the trailer in the very beginning (when the warrior is running in the snow forest in first person), you can se a great improvement with dynamic shadows! Also in that one with the archer hunter, you can see the shadows projecting in the character - that is a good improvement imo.

But we will have a lot more datails in the forest for sure!
