Is Oblivion's Soundtrack played by an orchestra?

Post » Tue Feb 25, 2014 5:30 pm

First of all.. This music makes me incredibly nostalgic! It's extraordinary.

I've been wondering ever since 2006 if the music was played by an organic orchestra, or whether it was just synth music? Does anyone have any extra details about how the soundtrack was recorded? And if the same group of people were featured on all the tracks. A lot of different instruments are used, and I'm extremely curious for information about the recording of the gorgeous soundtrack.

It makes me nostalgic as well, with Oblivion being my first ever TES title :D

I knew there was something special about that soundtrack, and Jeremy Soule's experience with the car crash during the writing of the compositions for Oblivion has confirmed my suspicions! :D

"Life is precious." What a wonderful way of defining the soundtrack for Oblivion.

It was only recently that I learned about the context of Oblivion's music, myself. And yes, "Life is precious" is a wonderful way to describe it...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YKicBAMlBk ftw!

Hisss! Us Xbox players missed out on easily one most beautifully melodic compositions in the game! I was totally taken off guard when I heard it on the PC version. I think it sums up that quote perfectly. For the duration of that song, death seems like a positive thing. The end of life, but it was a good life that millions of other sperm missed out on!

Have you ever heard the Czech Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra play their medley of the Oblivion music? I'd love to see more of this... But if any soundtrack is going to get special treatment in the future it will be Skyrim's inferior one. (My opinion)
