Oblivion Stutter Remover question

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 3:59 am

So I went and installed it per the instructions for the zip file. But how do I know if it's working? With other OBSE mods I know they are working because it tells me in the console. But I don't see anything that tells me if this is working. Could I have installed it wrong?

Yous should notice the game running considerably smoother. The difference should be quite apparent. Have you run around much since installing it?

I do notice a little difference but I haven't done that much running around in the open. I was still trying to get my video setting correct after I installed Streamline. the settings had changed so much that I could be standing at the exit for the sewers in the beginning of the game and watch the rocks disappear as I moved closer to them then reappear when I was barely a few feet away from them. I was just wondering if there was a way to tell in the console if OSR was running. I'll have to find an open area that has given me trouble in the past and see if it fixed things.

OSR should increase the smoothness of the game more than anything else (i.e., reduced stuttering when moving into new cells, less erratic changes in FPS, etc.) If you do not like Streamline adjusting your video setting, turn off Streamsmooth. If you change that setting in the INI file (instead of in game) you need to tell SL to init from the INI (through the SL menu) when you launch the game. As for setting up OSR, if you did not change Streamline's FPS range, you can leave OSR at the default range a swell. If you want to try to get a little more performance out of OSR. Try changing the heap mode. Reference the Read Me for instructions. There is not a guaranteed best mode, so you will have to try them out and figure out which one works best for you (especially which one is the most stable for your system.)

FPS should be capped at 30, with default install. Open console and type tdt. Check that inside interiors for best results.

I need to set that reminder in a different color and blow it up a bit on the SL.ini Tweaks page, don't I...
