Oblivion vs twilight

Post » Sun Jun 12, 2011 5:34 am

i remember playing oblivion, and the only thing that i would really hate about becoming a vampire, not including being able to fast travel during the daytime would be that they looked ugly as hell, so the question is, would you want to be a vampire that looks like the one in oblivion, or one that looks like the one in twilight?

Anyways, with all the complaints they got about Oblivion's vampires, it isn't too crazy to think they have changed their appearance...

That is, of course, if Vampires are in. I don't remember if it was confirmed or not.

I don't really care about vampires in general, so neither.

And, if I might suggest, go read Dracula.

If my character doesn't sparkle, I'm returning the game.

Vampires are traditionally supposed to be ugly looking. You rarely if ever saw stories where they impersonated good looking individuals until more recent times, where they have turned into little more than fapping material for young girls and older women. If I had the choice between looking like a fierce creature like the vampires of lore, and a sparkly pixie impersonating a vampire - I'd always choose the former. I just can't take the latter seriously, at all. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind vampires that look like normal human beings in the least. I've seen plenty of media where the idea is not only used, but used effectively. However, vampires that sparkle and ho-hum pretentiously about how dangerous they are like the ones in Twilight make me want to commit infanticide.

Okay, I prefer niether. Change it up, make 'em unique, make 'em their own. That's how I want to see it. No to Twilight.

Maybe have people that are infected with vampirism have both of their eyes turn white? (Blind eye.)

Twilight repulses me, and I prefer were-creatures over vampires, but I'll give a nice unbiased answer.

I'd honestly rather be one of the vampires from Oblivion. They made a lot of sense to me in a way that still made them familiar monsters but with a twist. The more you feed, the more human (or elven, orcish, or beastish) you were. They only looked ugly if they didn't regularly feed. On the other hand, they became stronger if they got over their lust for blood, but also would become more of a monster. I'd rather have all that raw power than look "pretty" any day personally. It also brings forth more in-depth elements to a person given that choice. Will they choose their vanity but act like a monster, or will they choose to reject their gift and become more of a monster because of it? Will they satiate their bloodlust just for the sake of it, or will they refuse it so they can become more powerful? Are they willing to give up sunlight and social contact altogether? The Oblivion vampires just seem so much cooler in comparison to any other vampire I've seen, to be honest.

If I sparkle in the light and have greasy hair and mascara once I become a vampire, I'm snapping my disk.

Not just no..... but hell no.

Not only is Twilight the most idiotic vampire movie ever, but switching over to Twilight style vampires would requier a complete change in the lore on vampires in the Elder Scrolls.

Considering vampires are reanimated dead, I don't think there is much sparkling going on. As for in the game, I've never cared much for the vampires in the ES. However, if they are included, they should follow the lore for the game.

Not sure why my comment that this is the worst thread ever was removed, since it clearly is the worst thread ever.

Twilight, from what i understand, is a movie series geared towards 12 year old girls.

Granted, i understand a lot of you have similar interests and objectives as that demographic, but still

No, vampires should be portrayed as blood svcking ghouls, not bieber wannabes

Okay,Being honest and brave here:I like Twilight (oh the shame),read books before the films.. But,for a game like Skyrim,I want to look like a lifeless creatrue of the night, the stuff of nightmares, the system in O.B was good, where after not feeding for a few days, people knew what you where, though maybe the reactions could be more extreme, after all, they know what you drink, and you are in their town...

well, i just didnt like how they were so skinny, my characters face looked ugly even if i had svcked a bunch of blood, at least make them look normal, if the blood storage is full.

no. vampirism isnt something to be rewarded for. its a curse and should be treated as such even though it was difficult to get around let alone find someone to repair your weapons and armor or even buy new ones i vastly preffered morrowinds handling of vampirism but i did like how in oblivion you actually had to find a sleeping person to feed on except in skyrim feeding shouldnt affect the percentage of vampirism in your blood thats like curing cancer by eating. instead if you dont feed for a long time you eventually become weak and this should only be able to be remedied by feeding.

Well I would like to be some kind of huge heroic Nord so turning into a vampire would ruin it for me.

If this time I go into a cave randomly and get the disease I'm gonna punch a small kitten in the face.

All that being said or typed I cant wait to destroy them with Fire!

LOL this ^

The vampires were pretty ugly in Oblivion. If they are back in Skyrim I'm hoping they've improved their appearance, maybe make them a tab bit sinister looking, idk.

but its a cool curse, the type of cure that you dont want to get rid off, they jump higher, run faster, and they have night vision.

That single statement didn't really contribute to the discussion. It was basically spam.

If a thread is beneath your notice due to the subject matter, its probably better to not comment at all, rather than simply add spam.
