When I ran Morrowind Physics Engine.exe it ran fine - so you can imagine how eagerly I fired up Mw. At first, there wasn't much notable difference (I started a new game just to be on the safe side). You said you wanted any bug reported - but so far I have encountered only one:
In the Census and Excise Office you are supposed to take a knife that is stuck in a table (the press "F" to equip thingy). Well, with MPE engaged, you can not pull the knife out of the table any more. Instead, I moved the entire table around! - maybe the friction value for the knife is an order of magnitude too high?
But when I left Seyda Neen, MPE did truely start to shine!
Tarhiel did his usual skydive...but by Vivec! this time he left a crater! :shocking:
Sorry - I have to go back to playing. I wonder what happens if I cast a fireball on that wooden shack over there... :flamethrower:
Wow, I've not seen that happen before. It is kind of a neat effect though...I'm going to see how we can take advantage of it. This is what I love about alpha/beta testing: unanticipated bugs that can become features! (Once we get it to behave properly of course!)
1) Wind stopped affecting trees every time I entered an interior and then returned back outside. (it'd be neat if you could tie the animated grass from MGE to the wind impact code, though!)
We do plan to do that once the wind is working correctly. I decided it would be best to focus on just banners and trees first before we get to smaller things. Not entirely sure if it is possible though to be honest since the MGE grass isn't made of actual meshes. Might have to consult with peachy a bit on that one when it comes time to work on it.
Good idea. I'll see that it's added to the list.
Oops...that's my bad. :hehe: Early tests that apparently weren't cleaned out all the way. The very first bit of physics to ever enter the world of Morrowind was set to trigger after my character took ten steps in an exterior cell. It so happened that my test character is in Seyda Need. When it triggered, it found the first "living" reference and shot it up into the air. Turns out it was Fargoth. It was like Tarhiel all over again. Except that we still haven't (and am not entirely sure if will ever) have the AI distance triggers working properly. About half-way down in his fall he started saying "I have a feeling you and I are going to be very close."
Thanks for the reports guys!
Edit: Oh, and for the record, when I posted these announcements at GHF and PES about this, it wasn't yet April. The thought didn't even really cross my mind how this all would appear.....
