Due an ongoing DoS attack on the download of ND by Pagan-Tes-Mod.de which have caused over 10 Terabytes of traffic, Eddy has stopped the download and the work on OWC ND. This concerns the Nexus download too.

this could kill his site, mod might never be finished. from waht i read, the "Adonnys" mod site was attacked too, and taken down.

better save the files even if you are not going to play this OWC soon: you might never ever see them on the internet again!

some thoughts.

my first gut reaction was to think of removing OWC ND from my game-to-play, and then go back to some other mod list.
I might never see another update for this OWC.

Then on my walk to the Sunday coffee shop, I had a thought: that this here Eddy created a mod *so* humongous huge and wonderful sounding that
its Presence deeply Offended someone or someones just because these people felt "invalidated" by its sheer incredibility!

"Rocky mountain Sickness", a term, I read, used to describe how many Denver, Colorado, people feel when in the presence of the Rocky mountains immediately to the west.
They feel so little and so ego-overshadowed that they get very depressed.


Also I read how a muralist painted a huge wonderful face on a wall in a high school ball field and the kids immediately defaced it with graffiti. the artist went back to ask the kids why they did this, and he got one earful of angry kid"s talk. they told him that this huge face, full of joy and happiness, so made them feel like they were in the presence of a God-like figure that they were Invalidated as selves and made to feel worthless. *Got to get rid of it*.
The mural painter painted it over with a mural with just stars, a night scene. no kid from then on ever touched this mural!!

whoever did this to his site had 10,000-plus bot computers at his/their disposal. Really *really* wanted to remove this mod from existence!
probably as per my examples above, this mod so made them feel so "little" that they wanted it Gone.

So now I plan to play this mod *as* a statement!! unless if i get out of the beginning sewer entrance to find a ruined textures/meshes due to mod conflicts that I cannot live with at all, I will play OWC ND as a Statement. it might never be unfinished, might have German text here and there to be unreadable to my American mind, but
a mod SO treated by people: must be one mod incredible!

as of sunday 5 Pm eastern time, the pagan site lets one download the beginning file, the 1.4 gig file, so i think the downloads are back.

Well mod is dead from what Eddy is saying and it's a shame. Thankfully I do got all the updated files saved and backed up and plan to translate all unfinished text for my personal enjoyment.

Only 6 months before Skyrim comes out so I'm going to stop messing with my Oblivion file and just finish everything. Played too much FCOM so I now only have 1.21 Warcry which will probably be the last and .5 WAC which might be the last.

Thanks Eddy for all your hard work too bad to see you go, and R3NNW does this also mean you won't be working on fixing this mod anymore?

I might try and see if Eddy will let me redistribute this file but I don't have access to the german version so it would be English only if I rehosted it.

I was thinking that same thing, back when I first saw OWC ND. I had dabbled with most of the overhauls, gotten a bit into the game on numbers of occasions. I see Skyrim
coming too, and i read on rockshotgun that they really like witcher 2, which comes out middle of may.

so which grand Finale will I play?

Actually .5 of WAC is the alpha - the newer beta was released at beginning of the year.

You probably knew that though.

Yeah my major problem with Oblivion is that I start a new game anytime any major revision is made. Now Obliviously with major changes going on all the time it's impossible to get very far into any quest even though I have already completed the mainquest there is still a lot of content in even Vanilla Oblivion that I haven't really even played through but saying that I've probably played through a lot more modded content then vanilla.

I do use overspawn with a bash patch and it resolves most issues however there are a few overwrites here and there that might make very little Oblivion Warcry content not appear however I do find that the content replaced is very high quality in the first place so for me it's a non-concern.

Most likely if I ever do get around to patching a fully compatible Warcry: ND with WAC it won't be until both mods are dead and I get both mod authors permission to release a patched version of both. However I wouldn't add any content but merely fix any major bugs and rework the leveled list to be fully compatible.

Actually .5 of WAC is the alpha - the newer beta was released at beginning of the year.

You probably knew that though.


Yea .1 is beta but I forget easily, either way no update to WAC for over 4 months so not sure if any it is still being worked on.

Perhaps Eddy might finish his major revision update that he was working on? I'm now using race balancing project with this mod which fixes the birthsign mistranslation so now I have almost a fully translated English version of Warcry New Dimension 1.21, only thing is the bearded races of WAC are a bit inferier to the regular races but I might make a patch later...

Why - the NPCs are not that prevalent and if you use the RBP bashable plugins you can get its races populating lists.

Unless you want to play the bearded races of WAC - then yeah. I find them annoying and when creating a character disable this and WAC - so as not to clutter the races when making a new character.

you *can* use the race balancing project with OWC?!

I thought that if you use this, the german language reappears with the npcs, even after the language patch, the RBP strips it away!
---or so i read.
but maybe eddy and people have fixed this with that new english patch!
[i wanted "Integration", which requires the rbp and the lame magic, but am afraid i have to remove Integration due to that concern.]

so is it now OK to use rbp so that i can play with Integration?!

I don't understand why i cannot translate back the signs, even by installing improved signs after OWC ND AND loading its plugin after OWC esps.

Any ideas?

Yea I just checked my Oblivion install and indeed many of the signpost are back to english but there are still a lot of shop signs a stuff that are in German. It might be possible to just delete the textures from the Oblivion install to get them back to English, of course I'm not sure where they are and my texture folder is 9.72GB so it might take awhile to find them.

It could be done though and I think a worthy request for future versions of the English edition.

So i'm not good with modding but, do you mean renaming/repathing improved signs meshes to the names/paths assigned by OWC would do the trick? Or maybe normal meshes won't work for objects now set as activators?

Well I'm no expert either ... I'm not sure what those activators do or if they are essential to other parts of the OWC ND experience

You could always test and see if it is more than a pop up saying what the sign says.

I say we rally petetions to have those addressed in a patch for the English version. I think that perhaps a lot of the hassles that happened for R3NNW in translating could have been bypassed by just making an English patch - like they do for Nehrim.

Hi I am working on a sign translation now, it should be complete in 1-2 hours, just gotta give me some time.

Edit: In 52 minutes managed to translate about 25% of the signs, looks like it will take another 3 hours or so to finish, so a bit longer then expected. I might not get to finish it until tomorrow since I have other stuff I need to do today.
