After playing various characters with skills such as science and survival as well as perks like hand loader... I feel like I'm still missing recipies.

I read on one of these posts that the person found the recipe to make "turbo" after doing a couple of quests.

What recipes or how many other recipies are there to obtain? After 3 characters with almost 200 hours played I have yet to run into any quest that gives me an obtainable recipe.

You get the recipe for Turbo through the quest 'Aba Daba Honeymoon'. Just choose your reward as the recipe.

Other recipes you can get:
Deathclaw Omelet - from getting deathclaw eggs for an unmarked quest for Jas Wilkins in Sloan
Powder Charge - on a bunk in the prison, behind an easy locked cell door (crime to open door and to take schematic)
Cook-Cook's Fiend Stew - on a shelf near Cook-Cook when you hunt him for Camp McCarran
.44 SWC Hand Loader Ammo - from a guy in North Vegas Square, requires 50 guns, 60 survival skill check (or something like that)

There are a handful of unlocked recipes from taking Hand Loader or Vigilant Recycler perks, as well as three completely useless ones for taking Nuka Chemist.

There are schematics ingame for the Rock-It Launcher and for a Billboard, but both are uncraftable. Not sure if there are any others beyond all this, not that I have come across personally.
