Obvious scripted dragon death

Post » Tue Dec 13, 2011 11:53 am

The point is, it's not scripted. Scripted is what happens no matter your actions. For examples, Roggvir's death. He will just fall over and die no matter your actions. This is not scripted, this is poorly done, but not scripted.

It is very scripted. If it wasn't. It would have fell over. dead. just like anything else that gets one-shotted. it rag-dolls over, and dies.

I can't make you see the obvious, if you are unwilling. hence the vid.

3x sneak damage. poison. dual enchanted bow. all made from in game items. nothing modded. no need for it.

That doesn't change the fact that the death animation is poorly implemented (if at all lol) for perched dragons.

forgot ebony arrows.

LOL. On an Ancient Dragon. Yeah, right.

It's not the lying that upsets me, it's the credit you're giving my intelligence.

and how many hours are you into the game? what are your levels? and perks? and did you waste them in the wrong trees?

yes, the game is that easy, without "cheating"

Yeah, whenever dragons are attacked they instantly start the flight animation. Even if they die in one hit.

Over 200 hours in, all dmg increase perks from sneak and archery, including making bows 2x more powerful than base. Full smithing tree.

One shotting an ancient dragon can't be done without looping potions or ench/alch.

Doing the maths... an Ancient Dragon has HP a shade over 3000. Even with triple damage from sneak, plus your poison, you'd have to have a bow doing in the range of 950 damage. Tell me where to find this bow. I want one.

crafted dual enchanted. will post pic. wait one. IIRC I was using this one. sneak 3x, archery maxed, I can't remember the poison, but the dragon didn't resist. I can't recall but I think it was on expert mode(at time of vid). Doesn't look like I critted the dragon either.
Hmmm, can not find poison, that was used..time to scour gamesaves. and trust me, when I screw up, or the game's auto-aim/aim assist kicks in/out, I get my ass whooped just like anyone else.

Dragon got hit, started the fly animation, then died from poison. The game doesn't have anything to handle a dragon dieg in the air, so it had to fly and crash. It crashed into the side of the hill and the game bugged a little and it telported up it. No big deal.

So basically you powerlevelled certain skills to effectively break the game and now you're upset that the in game animations can't handle you one-shotting dragons? This isn't an MMO, no-one is going to give you an award.

by level 65, he/she should have many things at 100, dont see that as power leveling. and since we are allowed to go to 100 as a game design and intention, it shouldn't be considered game breaking.

the game animations tho should be able to handle the dragon's death whether it took 1 attack or 100.

It's not about 1-shotting a dragon, it's about dev oversight.

looks like that particular gamesave didn't make it after I cleaned out my 10+GB of saves. Hmmm..

this thread is hilariously sad... OP brings up a glitch in dragon animations, everyone tries to shift the subject to him "cheating".

there are a bunch of areas where dragons cant land. a bunch of places where they will be flying around for awhile trying to land giving you ample time to kill them in the air. I cannot comprehend the mind of you people, who will ignore an obvious and amateur oversight just because its an uncommon situation. you can murder a man's wife and resurrect her as a permanent thrall to kill him... this isnt the kind of game where you are expected to follow the strict code of dragon slaying laid out by bethesda's lazy animators. all they had to do was program dragons to ragdoll. that is it. they already do when on the ground, cant be too hard.

its an oversight, and actually quite an amusing one to me. calm the [censored] down and admit that maybe bethesda isnt perfect.

I completely forgot with my "Ring/Necklace of archery" combined...Bows do 50% more damage as well. or was it 60%...

/edit
I don't recall anything for archery on the nightingale armor. I may have had other pieces enchanted for archery as well. I really really can't remember. sorry about that men/women. so any people claiming cheating, just doesn't realize, it isn't needed in this game.
