It's obvious that House is the ONLY way forward for humanity

When playing the game, it is pretty obvious that NONE of the other factions have any chance of long term sustainability. House is the only one with the knowledge and technological advancements to get humanity closest to its Pre-War state.

Heck, just looking at the difference between the Mojave Outpost or any other NCR establishment, and the Strip, it is painstakingly obvious which one is the way forward. The Strip being a place of security, and financial growth is shown to be managed so much better than whatever the NCR has been able to do with their lack of funding/trained soldiers/whatever other problems they have.

A lot of people have been criticizing House for not caring about anything outside the Mojave, but tbh it's a lot better than any other faction would be able to do. Also, House is not an idiot, he knows the importance of actual people with their spending of caps on the strip and will no doubt make further improvements to the quality of life in the areas surrounding the strip.

Any thoughts?

I look at Freeside and what House did not do for that area. He does nothing outside the Strip itself, and bars those who are not worthy. The economy he is building is predicated on the addictions of the customers. This is not a Quid Pro Quo type of economic solution where both sides benefit from the arrangement.

No one who is vying for control of the strip has the best interests for the people in the area.

After the Courier ensured New Vegas remain free, the Followers found that independent Vegas was even more unstable and violent than before. Old Mormon Fort became excessively burdened by the influx of patients, struggling to provide even the most basic of services.

That's my take on it. Well that, and the fact that I don't exactly have a high opinion of the pre-war USA. If it's not being played for horror, such as the scientific experiments by Vault-Tec, the Big MT, and West-Tek, it's played for black comedy, such as what we see in the REPCONN HQ and in the Nuka-Cola plant.

wait are you quoting the yes man ending for a House argument?

IMO however House is the best solution. It is almost an Exitus Acta Probat kind of situation. Helping the tribals and whatnot detracts from House's overall goal at the current time. It is only when he has stabilized the Mojave that he will then expand to other places. He states that given many years he will get Humanity to space and many years after that he will colonize other planets, so yeah compared to the corrupt NCR, the War-based Legion, and the progress-less Yes Man, House is the best choice

That ending is, according to the wiki, for both House and Yes Man.

I call shenanigans because having completed the game at least 8 times in favour of Mr. House AND doing things for the Followers (I really like them, so I help them to help Freeside), not once have I ever gotten that slide. Only for my 1 Independent playthrough have I ever seen that slide.

I agree with CCNA on this one. House's vision of "progress" is status Quo, better for the Strip. If one has any humanity, they try to do things like solve the situation between the Kings and NCR peacefully. House destroys the Kings for working with the NCR to provide FOOD for the people of Freeside.

If I understand it correctly, it's because a bug prevents the Followers slide from appearing at all for a House victory. It's possible I'm wrong, but I doubt it was deliberately left out, and as far as I know there are only those six ending cards for the Followers.

Yet how many people incite the Kings to fight the NCR? By that point players have got to know and probably like the King and by extension the Kings, and seen the army of the NCR (Mojave Outpost, Camp McCarran etc). Surely the majority of people would choose the peaceful way of helping the Kings and NCR work together rather than have the Kings get shot to pieces. It feels like House then taking action against the Kings because of this is done to shock the player, to make them realise that there's more to Mr House than prosperity and progress for all.

I'd like to point out that that slide said Independant Vegas, and that the wiki isnt 100% true, the wiki is after all, user contributed info, thus can be subject to ths misunderstandings and false information of the user.
