I personally believe that Ocato is a Ayleid and not a nice person. You notice that all this stuff related to Daedric power increases has happened since Ocato has been in the picture. We'll start with the Jagar Tharn debacle. Wasn't Ocato Tharn's apprentice. And Jagar Tharn was known as a good battlemage, and there had to be a reason why Uriel Septim trusted him so much. And then things changed. Maybe the whole thing was actually Ocato's idea. That is my opinion. And after Uriel gets back, Ocato seems completely clean. Can't really connect Daggerfall with Ocato. In Morrowind, the Gaurdians are killed, and the Heart is realeased, allowing for a Daedric invasion. Who was the advisor, Ocato. Then, in Oblivion, the invasion actually occured. Why would Mankar Camoran spend so much effort killing the Emporer and his sons, and then miss Ocato. "Just an extremely powerful battlemage, with already a lot of control and power within the empire. He won't be much of a threat." They must have known he would take control of the empire. No one is that stupid. Ocato refuses to help the cities when attacked by the Daedra. And the only city not under attack for most the game is the IC, the city Ocato is in. And how did Dagon invade right when Martin was there. Wouldn't Ocato have locked down the city, and make sure no gates were opened? No, he would let tons of gates be opened. And he svcked at protecting Martin, but that is probably a gameplay issue. I believe that Ocato was the true mastermind of the Invasion along with Mankar Camoran, his Ayleid brother. And if he isn't an Ayleid, he sure as hell is a Altmer with Daedric and Ayleid sympathies. Which reminds me of the rumors about Summurset. Maybe that can be used in my conspiracy theory somehow.
