Is Odahviing trustworthy?

Post » Thu Feb 20, 2014 9:29 pm

It's not like Odahviing ever agreed to leave mortals alone. And he certainly doesn't have Paarthurnax's level of dedication.

Hevnoraak is your guy for this one Harry.

I don't know his history, and considering that he's Alduin's right-hand-man, I'm sure he's slaughtered more than his fair share of Nord's. But they were unworthy, and rebelled against the holy dragons. ;)

Dragons were made to dominate. No dragons can be trusted except for Paarthurnax.

I think he's can sort of be trusted. He has seen the dragonborns mastery of the Thu'um.

When you lift the trap he moves to the end of the great porch but waits. he could have easily flew away and dodged dragonrend if he took a quick left or right.

Alduin is the only one you should trust. The God dragon saves our character from dying in the normal un-moded game.

Okay seriously though, I kill all dragons but Durnehviir cause he needs you to summon him. Plus c'mon, A Un-dead dragon? badass buddies.

Oh yea and Odahviing is mah [censored] fear controls him so he can be trusted.

M"aiq thinks trusting a dragon will only lead to your death.

I think he can be trusted. He could easily just have flown away and left you there, like Michael said. He comes every time you call, and doesn't try to murder you when you do it. :P

Even this is a bit of a stretch, however, given his willingness to assist TLD in defeating Alduin, he ought to be given the benefit of the doubt...but be placed on a short leash.

If Alduin hadn't showed up, you know that the Thalmor would have intervened, right? That's why they were there.

Ulfric is the reason why they would have intervened.

Ha, Doesn't change the fact that he still saves you.

And if the thalmor did, It'd make them look like the good guys :P (Would have been cool to me...)

Maybe , but just for Ulfric who would be the last to be beheaded .I doubt they would care about saving common soldiers or bandits, they didn't seem to care much about guy before us.

He can be "trusted" to leave mortals alone as long the Dovahkiin is still wandering around.

I'd give Farengar about 9 seconds of remaining life.

How so? Anyone can slay a dragon and since Alduin's spirit isn't in the mortal plane anymore, he can't exactly revive his brother (not that he'd want to, anyway). The Dragonborn just makes it impossible for them to be revived.

Dragons respect power, and the Dovahkiin has it. As long as you remain more powerful that Odahviing he will remain loyal to you.

Odahviing and Paarthurnax will probably have a jolly ol' genocidal rampage together eventually.

Eventually, yes. I don't doubt it for a second. After all, dragons were made to dominate, it's in their very nature. I however spared Paarthy.
