Odd crashing time

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 11:09 pm

I'm sure we all know Morrowind is a game that is very, very prone to crashes. And I'm sure we have all heard "Save often" from other forum members. But is this always the case?
Today, while saving not even 2 minutes after my last save point, my console crashed- MID SAVE. Needless to say, my file was corrupted (A corrupted file just has the title screen as the screenshot for the file- interesting fact.), but thanks to the auto save I only lost about 30 minutes of work. Playing vanilla on a 360. Anyone else experienced the same thing?

Well, yes. Morrowind likes to crash.

Save often, but even better advice is to not use the same save file over and over. Every few saves, make a new save file for that character. (then erase the older ones as they pile up)

It's also a good idea to sleep 72 hours in a row once and awhile before you save. It helps clear out temporary data that bogs down your game.

morrowind on 360, I've gathered, seems to be the most prone to crashes of all the possible ways of playing.

What's curious to note is sometimes it crashes consistently during certain times. I've tried 4 times to complete a simple 5 part quest where i had to get all these expensive items in Ald-Ruhn and return them and get 50 per item as a reward. It kept crashing and i got fed up with it. Left Ald-Ruhn, and it didn't crash for over an hour. Really wish the sources were available and compile it with debugging information, when it dies in mid-game we can track down and fix bugs that way.

Yeah, I tried 5 times to harvest a certain plant in seyda neen, and it crashed everytime I accessed the container. There are some spots, although rare, that are just broken.

That is a VERY good idea indeed. But Morrowind has actually never crashed for me. I don′t know if it′s because the MCP or any other I have installed, but Oblivion has crashed way more

In my opinion playing Morrowind on the 360 is dangerous, I've tried. I had to fix my old xbox up just to play it.
