odd issue - after minimizing the game performance increases

Post » Tue Dec 13, 2011 1:45 pm

Hi, my system :

i5 2500k stock,
Corsair 2x2gb 1600mhz
GTX 570 Twin frozr II/OC

When everything is set to max i get 30fps, no less no more (unless in closed areas). But when i press crtl+alt+del to go back to windows and then i get back to game - my performance increases about 13-14 fps, i get 43-44 fps, what the hell? Settings did not downgrade, everything's still set to max and i also took screenshots with fraps, can't seem to see the difference between before and after. Images are exactly same size also.

Yep, got exactly the same here: starting the game full screen I get a steady 30 fps. Then going to windowed mode with Alt/Enter (effectively the same as Ctrl/Alt/Del) and back to full screen with Alt/Enter gives a fps boost to around 40 fps.

Crysis 2 1.9 patch, DX11 enabled, high res enabled, running at Ultra with 1920x1080 resolution
AMD X4 965 3.4 GHz quad core
MSI NGTX 560 Ti OC Twin Frozer II
4 x 2 Gb Kingston cl 7-7-7-20
Windows 7 Prof 64bit

Yes everyone knows this and there was already a thread on this matter. It's no issue, it's like an engine autorefresh that many have including UE3.

So this has been something we could have been doing since before patch 1.9?

Hi guys.. I have the same issue. My specs

Phenom 1090T @ 3.8 mhz
ECS Nvidia GTX 480 @ 1400 / 2200 / 2800
4 GB Adata Gaming DDR3
Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bits
Samsung PX2370 1920x1080p
DX11 patch

Crysis 2 is all maxed out (only Objects at extreme) and Antialiasing set to 32AA via Nvidia Control Panel..

When I first start a mission it caps at 25fps on open areas, but as soon as i hit alt+enter and then resume to full screen it goes to 40-50fps

I know this has to be with Crytek stuff... But is there anything we can do besides hitting alt+enter each time?

Just a word on AA. AA doesn't work properly using the NVIDIA control panel, so it's a waste of time. You're not getting 32xAA.
