An odd thought about Dragonborn...

I was initially very annoyed with Dragonborn because the first Dragonborn turned out to have been an enormous dud. He didn't do anything important other than conquer and island before hiding from a Daedric Prince while ignoring his duties. As a result, he ended accomplishing nothing of importance during his life.

Then I realized the First Dragonborn is that player who says, "I don't want to be chosen! I just want to be part of the Thieves Guild/Dark Brotherhood/Mages College!"

It's kind of funny to see him as the guy who does quests that don't relate to the main quest as his "role."

Seriousness: It's an interesting look at it. But it's more than just that. Fate decreed that he wasn't the one to stop Alduin. Maybe Mora told him this and he accepted this fate. Serving Mora would give him power the Dragons could never, and he hoped through manipulating fate, he could reign supreme in the future.

His true fate was to be at one(literally) with the Last Dragonborn though, and Mora anticipated this.

At least, that's how I picture it.
