My big gripe is the for 1st person games with a 3rd person mode, In the 3rd person mode the character always strafes and doesn't feature turning animations.
In Batman Arkham Asylum, the camera is off-centre, you can rotate it with the right thumbstick, but if you run, the camera auto-orients itself behind Batman if you don't tweak the right thumbstick.
Over-the-shoulder makes you feel like you're a part of the action, while the traditional view makes you feel omniscient. I like the over-the-shoulder view but it does cut out a lot of vision. I say we have a 3rd person view like in Oblivion until we draw a weapon or an enemy initiates combat.
