Nice model and texture work. For some reason, I have always wanted to cut the rope with a swing of a sword and watch the chandelier falling on a table and calapsing it.

I think that's possible, with a lot of animation and wee bits of scripts :D

I disagree, I don't think the two are mutually exclusive, and I honestly prefer several of Oblivion's armor designs to those in Morrowind (fur, ebony, and Dwarven in particular stand out). I don't like a lot of Oblivion's art direction (chainmail and glass look like poo-poo, and, of course, NPCs :P). It's true that a good texture goes a lot further than a high poly model in terms of aesthetics, but why not strive for both?

I like the models that Solidfire has made so far-- a definite improvement.

I have to admit I did like some of oblivion's armor too, though I always thought the fur gloves in morrowind looks abit odd :0 heh no doubt i'll be getting to those eventually and adjusting them to realism.. who knows, I may use some inspiration from oblivion's armors.

svcky news, my wondows 7 beta is about to expire in a few days, now I been backing up all my data to my backup drives, hopefully I can find an affordable student version of windows 7

if you have any suggestions, go ahead. its going to take me awhile to get myself back on my feet after I uninstall and reinstall windows 7 and have all my tool back together again. wish me luck!

This is very neat idea, and like Nikki says, looks awesome, but it's not overdone. I also understand this will have absolutely no impact on fps or low end machines, which cannot be said for 80%+ replacers out there.

Keep up :)

I must admit, I find Oblivion's daedric and ebony armor set's designs very eye-pleasant as well.

I don't know if this is helpful or not, but my little brother told me over the phone a few weeks ago that he purchased a student version of Windows 7 online from the University of Missouri (Columbia) bookstore for $40. He is not a student at that university but that wasn't an issue at all, he made his order and received a working retail copy of Windows 7 in the mail a few days later. Also, as I reminded him, don't forget that all that kind of crap can be a tax write off for you guys. :^)

definately a spiffy collection. there are a number of notoriously low quality meshes, like the wickwheat bundle.

Usually I don't care about mesh replacers if they override my chosen texture replacers, but if they are really compatible this is an awesome project!

the wait for my return is no more! I'm back up and into business again, now that everything is shorted out, I will have some new meshes for preview next week.

I had some Operating System issues, but its not more.

now that it's all set behind, here's your first preview of my latest mesh. :) http://clip2net.com/clip/m14405/1277494570-clip-35kb.jpg

a preview of before and after will be created later next week.

sorry to keep you all waiting ^-^

Glad to see ya back. I don't even need to see a comparison screenshot to know that lantern is much improved from the original. Guess I tinker around too much in the CS.

yeah, I can't see anything from there, but I can prevent it from popping up before the page load completely, as it wouldn't matter because there isn't too many images in the forums, mainly links.

the bar stays where it is, it doesn't scroll with the screen, so it keeps the header and the logo covered. :P I'm not sure what I can do about it except just live with it, but if anyone has a solution to this, I'll be grateful.

so yeah, this is what it looks like.

it feels good to be back ^^

PS I only see the bars in forum posts so far.

Is there any news on this? The meshes look awesome. Even if no more work has been/will be done, I would be really happy to be able to use what's been shown. It would be a shame to waste those great meshes. :)
