Official Q and A

That was very short...but okay.
Hate the sound of "you can even get married", I am almost 99% it will svck just like in every other game that attempts dynamic romance.
Not sure about cuirass and greaves being merged...was mad at first, but when I thought about it I wasn't sure if it really mattered.
I like the fact that they are leaving info about turning into creatures for people to discover when they play the game.

Interesting little tidbit Todd shared with me on Mark &Recall

Wow that would've been insane if that feature was in Oblivion.

Thankyou kindly for sharing. I should only hope Todd maintains confidence in you after your blatant, albeit harmless stool-pigeoning / parroting :whistling:

Incredibly disappointed. No time for spears or medium amrour, but plenty of time for romantic crap?

Yes, we spend months and months speculating only to find out what we came up with is freaking correct, and the bad kind.

One speed all races

One piece armors? the only hope as that it is not as useless as Halo reaches armor customization "system"

.lawl im not even going to go on, I'll be called a complainer..even though the "complainers" figured most of this out along time ago....

the wait is killing me...I just want to play, Im tired of bad news just give me the game so I can play.

I actually agree with you MK. The armor combining doesn't bother me though since we'll get more armor and more NPC's on screen. Also, speed can be altered by what we're wearing, so at least they'll be some kind of variation. I really wish they talked about jumping and what it's tied too.

A very good read. I see it as mostly possotive for sure .

I really like:

"" Is there any game content (story, quests) that might be locked for a character based on race/faction/politics allegiances/morality/choices? Or one can experience all the content in one single play?
Todd: We do have some stuff that gets locked out based on decisions you make. It’s wherever it felt natural. It wasn’t a goal that you could or couldn’t play everything with one character. The game’s honestly so big that we don’t think about it much.""

This will give me a reason to go through the game and make different decisions :)

Also love the sound of the PC version...not worried about a thing over here ,though i wonder what the other "bunch of effects" are that we can turn up if we have a beast? :foodndrink:

Thanks !!

Would of been nice to have the final two skills confirmed as well, must have been a question on them somewhere in the question threads.

Some good, some bad
Pleased that enchanting is no longer linked to spells known but that enchanting effects can be learnt from items. Makes an Ilmarinen or Celebrimbor type of character quite interesting.

Well that was brief and somewhat uninformative. I kind've knew the answer to all of those questions already.

Yeah I can see how that would be broken. Kind of like if I had this ability to go to my map and travel really fast to any location I had visited on it. That would be totally game breaking. And if you are worried about the escaping combat part of things I give you invisibility or high stealth or high speed and a health potion etc.

Well I guess it was nice that Todd went into some detail with their design choices (especially the controversial cuirass/greaves merging), but I still don't see how they can set aside an entire portion of the team for hyper-realistic believable dragons and romantic crap, but spears are too advanced for them. :P

I never used spears anyway, I'm just saying there's definitely something a little funny with Bethesda's priorities.

The only thing I didn't like was the part "if you're a criminal they'll know." I hope they wont be telepathic and know as soon as I do something.

Other than that I'm excited about bar fights and marriage.

I'm a little bothered by the last question because thought that was known, he really did say it in an interview. I'm satisfied overall but did want to see some new screenshots because pictures answer more questions than words.

Still appreciate eveything but to me it could of been better but importantly is was something lol.

Also I do hope they could put spears and what not into the expansion size dlc if possible would be cool IMO.

Lol screw it, to be honest I knew most of the answer some weeks ago, most of it was confirmed by the Game Informer Special Podcast  and that been out for awhile.

At first I didn't like it, but the more I thought about it the better I think it is. It does allow enchanting to be a skill on its own to be picked up. If spells are needed, you really have to be a master mage in order to be a enchanter. Just like how my mage can pick up one handed weapon skills and be awesome at that a thief or fighter should be able to pick up enchanting and be awesome at that as well.

Well, the devs must be astronomically busy, since this was quite a bit shorter than I thought it would be. Then again, they can't go blowing all the good reveals here when there are still plenty of magazine articles to be done between now and November.

Romance is interesting and the fact that there will be more armor than ever before is nice, but there wasn't that much new info. I guess we'll wait for more stuff to trickle in.

I didn't think it would affect me this much, but I can't get past number 3. There is no mention of smithing to change it or anything and they told us it wouldn't be like Fallout 3's. This system isn't very similar to Oblivion's with one major change, it's Fallout 3's system with small and relatively unnoticeable boots and gauntlets. Why not just merge them, too, considering how little of the body they cover in comparison to the the single-piece "armor"?

The first question was confusing...

First I though they were talking about polymorph spells, but when they've said they've already done things like this in the other games I've gotten confused.
I think they're talking about Vampires and Werewolf and such, and thinking over the answer it makes perfect sense. They're not talking about it, so it will be a surprise when you play the game. There were threads about this already how big surprise finding out you can become a werewolf in Daggerfall was, I think they're trying to achieve something like this here too...

The marriage and friend thing seems interesting but I'd like to know if this is a dynamic thing like in Fable, being able to do this to every NPC out there or just on a select few? I would prefer the second as that would be more refined... but we'll see...

On the PC version one thing caught my eye. "We’re packing a lot of info on the screen and the whole interface is much less ‘look at giant fonts!’ than, say, Oblivion." So PC gets smaller fonts, or it's overall smaller? That would fix a lot of problems...

And tavern brawls? [censored] yes!

Seti I know how you feel, I felt the same way when this was being heavily discussed after E3. I have come to accept it and hope that maybe, just maybe with the smithing skill being as dynamic as they say, it could work.

:celebration: Tavern Brawls :celebration:

Meh at the romance, but I guess it really does fit in with the game and should add to atmosphere even though I'd feel silly using it.

I completely agree on the justification for leaving mark and recall out. I hate when there is unexplained restrictions in the game. Keeping these spells would mean that all the quest locations where recalling out or planting a mark spell would break the game would have to be magically guarded locations. That is a HUGE limitation. Levitation isn't as severe of an issue as mark/recall, but it is similar. That being said, they could solve the problem fairly easily by making these types of spells work in specific situations, rather than making them NOT work in specific situations. For example, if you had to be at an altar to use a teleport spell, problem solved. If you had to be in a special type of climate to use levitate, problem solved. Not a big deal to me though either way.

I don't believe for a second that they are not including any transformations, but suspense on that one is fine by me.

Merged armor is good. The added variety should more than compensate for the loss of control.

Well balanced interview, got some controversial stuff out of the way and also released some cool new features. I'm happy. :goodjob:
